Why do I get sleep paralysis so often?

The "astral world" in this case will be a different frequency, what is projected will be different from the usual maya for your ego. Technically i think it would be a mistake to think you could spy on someone via the astral plane from a non-dual point of view, it would in fact simply be clairvoyance, and clairvoyance of a frequency, of the usual ego which is not the case here.

If what i say makes sense.

I don’t have clairvoyance so that makes sense I wouldn’t be able to do that. I don’t know what it has to do with non duality though

Because saying that your mom was in the « wrong room » tacitly suggests that there is an objective world and an imaginary, subjective one.

From a non dual pov it’s the relative world who is in consciousness which is a priori absolute.

I wasn’t sure which subforum to put this in but I figured this would be most suitable.

It’s not important for me to know this but it just makes me curious. In my life I’ve had probably upwards of 100 episodes of sleep paralysis. There was a period a few years ago where I would have it really often. And recently I’ve had it too very often. For example this morning was crazy, I had maybe upwards of 5 separate sleep paralysis episodes, with astral projection several times and hallucinations. I can also get intense vibrations, feeling like energy shooting up my head etc. Once my head convulsed.

I wanna point out that I don’t find sleep paralysis scary, I have maybe been scared twice or something in my life because of it. I don’t get scary hallucinations, I find it somewhat fun to explore it especially astral projection.

I also don’t have too irregular sleep patterns. I can sleep for a long time if I don’t work for the day, so maybe that’s a factor. I don’t have problems falling asleep.

There's a shaman that I personally consider legit claims that certain non physical entities that can cause sleep paralysis.

Once a guy told me if you get a lot of sleep paralysis it can mean you have an “old soul”. I haven’t found any additional info about that.

I'd believe if it turned out you're an old soul. My gut feeling is you might even have a certain activation of light in you that causes you to become visible and magnetic to disembodied spirits. That would explain the frequent sleep phenomena. The downside of it is that these spirits which are often parasitic can clog your system and it would maybe explain why your energy is so suppressed/down sometimes.

Feel free to share if you’ve had similar experiences.

I've been having some astral projection experiences recently aswell. I like it how my body is electrified with energy when I come back lol.

I don’t know about that. What I lowkey believe though is that you can encounter spirits and entities during sleep paralysis that are real and not your imagination. I’m sure it has happened to me at least once.

I believe it too. What do you mean by disembodied spirits? I don’t believe I have outside influence influencing my system

Sounds great. You mean you feel energized afterwards?

Not necessarily energized. Electrified, like sticking a pin in the electric socket.

@Sugarcoat normally sleep paralysis is a symptom of stress. I used to get them twice or thrice a year and it used to scare the fuck out of me. But sometimes I was amused by them, in how dramatic, real and colorful they were. I saw a correlation between stress, negative thoughts and sleep paralysis.

The video says stress is responsible for it.

I had one Astral projection experience last year.

My Astral projection was similar to this.

I don’t feel that for myself. I don’t feel particularly stressed nowadays. I was more stressed in my past though, and used to have it more often then so maybe there’s something to it

Yep. Don't be scared. It usually reduces with time. The brain learns to adjust to it. Mine is gone now completely.

I’m not scared at all of sleep paralysis I can actually enjoy it. I have been scared only a very few times. I find the things you hallucinate reflect your inner state. So if you are scared you’re more likely to hallucinate something scary. And if you’re calm like me you’ll have no or very neutral hallucinations

I didn’t read the thread really but me too

I used to get it so often.

So often that i learned how to enjoy it(minimally) and how to snap out of it. One night snapped out of it and back in like 6 times.

But now i almost never get it.

Cool.

I learned how to enjoy it too. It’s quite easy to snap out of it I find, the way is to wiggle toes or fingers kind of

Did you notice something changed? Like changed sleep pattern. Do you think you know why you don’t get it anymore

Well I’m really not sure

But it was a time when i was partying often and taking substances that mess with serotonin maybe. Or on an SSRI for a half year. Are you on any medication?

Yes I’m on ssri and anti psychotic currently. When I had the most sleep paralysis I wasnt on these meds though. Perhaps epileptic medication because I was on it when I was younger but I don’t remember exactly what year I stopped taking it, if it was before or after the period with the most sleep paralysis . But that could maybe contribute.

@Sugarcoat it’s likely chemical smells that you’re inhaling like the sheets that you’re sleeping on your pillow, scented products that are in the air. Culprits are laundry detergent, dishwashing soap, scented candles, vape, incense, Any fabric ever washed with detergent, floor cleaner and even if you don’t use these things personally it can be Entering it to your house from the people living below you.

How is this post just me acting out my ego in the usual ways? Is this post just me venting and justifying my selfishness? Are the things you are posting in alignment with principles of higher consciousness and higher stages of ego development? Are you acting in a mature or immature way? Are you being selfish or selfless in your communication? Are you acting like a monkey or like a God-like being?

Didn’t know. I’ll look that up.

Sounds like bs honestly.

Have you had the "levitation" sleep paralysis? Where it feels like you’re levitating and getting close to the ceiling but you can’t really move your head? Those are more fun than the demon ones.
