How many people actually care about your survival?

I think my parents are the only people that are actually invested in my survival and well-being. Are your “friends” really there for you? Do they actually care that much about you? I think I’m just a fleeting amusement to my friends and vice versa. Whenever I really needed help, none ever really offered any, except for platitudes and empty promises.

And how many people do you actually care about? And how many people do you honestly put emotional labor and support into? How many people on earth are you really willing to bleed for?

No one cares even parents. They just want a new improved version of them to carry forward their memory. What they are doing is wholly self serving. They will be nice to you now and you will be nice to them later.

You should care and not just for parents. You cannot wake up without another person. You cannot remember God alone. Only by stirring that memory in another can you glimpse the reality of love. You should care for everyone. If you exclude one person, you will be barring yourself from your true nature.

I don’t think it’s harsh. It’s normal to want people to care about you, but it’s a possibility to not care about it. I’m just allowing him to maybe investigate that reason. If it’s something that would bother him, if not then don’t.

@Sugarcoat emotions usually trying to tell something important. Not a good idea to just don’t care about it. Better to look at the root causes and fix that. You are very insensitive in general.

I don’t suggest anyone dismiss their emotions. That’s not a good idea. I just stated my question so op could investigate that for himself if he feels the need for others to care about him bothers him. Because it’s possible to not care about how others feel about you in general. Just a thought. I don’t think I’m too insensitive, I don’t mean to be

Maybe that’s the underlying reason but is that the conscious reason? Isn’t the conscious reason more something along the lines of feeling approved, loved, seen, included

@Candle You seem like a good person, but if you are everyone’s friend, you are really no one’s friend. A friend is someone you put above all others.

My life has been very hard. Honestly, I just wish I had more pairs of hands to help me with stuff, and maybe offer financial support. If I was enlightened, I would still like to have people to help me get my car out of the snow, I had to do that on my own.

I have money but it doesn’t buy deep loyalty or real emotional investment. Maybe I could work on Charisma more, I wanted to move to Vegas and learn pickup and social skills just to get more people in my corner.

Okay I understand your reason then. One has to foster the relationship one has, and if you would help them but they wouldn’t help you back then it’s maybe time to cut some people off, so it’s mutual
