Rasputin was a Russian mystic and Orthodox Christian spiritual leader who was prophesied as having healing powers. After using his mystical powers to heal the Tsar's son, he gained a special position in influencing the Tsar's Government.

So close was his relationship to the royal family, that people seriously believed that Rasputin was influencing  the Tsar's Government and policy direction through mind control, and even having an affair with his wife. 

This is the exact dynamic going on right now. Elon Musk is Rasputin, and Donald Trump is Tsar Nicholas the second.

Why is Trump even keeping Elon around? Just seems really unprecedented to have a really rich donor who hasn’t even been assigned to the cabinet sticking around the president constantly. Just bizarre.

Remember that Trump is a fake billionaire, and he knows it. So he craves to be around real billionaires because it makes his fantasy feel more real. And what could be more flattering to his ego than being friends with "the world's richest man".

It's all about the narcissistic supply.

@Leo Gura At some point do you think these people will ever realise how fundamentally miserable, broken, sad and lonely people they are?

 

None of them can stand each other. None of them sees any of the others as more than anything but as means to their own ends. Even their own families fucking hate them.

Thiel, Bezos, Musk, Trump, Zuckerberg - they’re all so fucking miserable. As much as it annoys me they have all this power, part of me is glad I’ll never end up like that, living a constant, never-ending web of lies and deceptions, chasing the next high.

It just sounds awful tbh.
