If you are going to travel a lot I think you should learn to travel light, ideally with a lightweight carry on only backpack. Firstly if you resonate with this, there's a really great ultralight travel product list made by a guy called Jeremy Maluf. There are some fantastic product recommendations in this list:

I'd also say it's worth buying a good lightweight backpack. Personally, the best all round ultralight backpack I've found is the ULA Dragonfly, it's got an amazing reputation among the Onebag community.

It's pricey but it'll last you your whole life, ULA has lifetime warranty. It has basically every feature you'd want in a backpack while weighing very little.

@Davino I struggle to find earplugs that I can wear for more than a few hours without my ears hurting. Are these wearable for long hours? how much noise do they reduce? would you say they are good enough for clubbing?

What type of hurting are you experiencing?

Is it because of pressure? are they uncomfortable in your ear?

A lot (27dB) which means 500x noise reduction in a frequency range. Although consider that an hour in, your ears become much sharper as you adapt to the decrease in sound. You shouldn't need more noise reduction and I feel it is almost imposible to get more silent than this.

Not the Quiet 2, too much reduction and music becomes distorted and loses sharpness. They are designed for eliminating sound.

They have a special product for clubbing Experience 2 which will satisfies those needs. Just 50x sound reduction and better sound quality. If you want earplugs for partying those are the ones you need.

Have some some custom molded made. They are a bit pricey but they are a million times better than anything off the shelf. One of the best investments I ever made as a musician.

You also get to change the noise reduction level whenever you want by changing the filter in them. Very easy to do. -15db, -20db, -30db. Whatever you want & all with a neutral/flat eq curve.

I have some cheap transparent ones for clubbing.  They do the job very well. And if you lose them they are easily replaceable.
