Factory farms are not part of the circle of life.

if someone literally has no other option but to eat meat, then I don't have a problem with it.

But most privileged modern folk are not in that position.

greater levels of privilege and power behoove us to take on greater levels of responsibility. And the prevalence of the Vegan diet shows how far we've grown as a species in terms of infrastructure and technology.

You're right, it's about returning to form and shedding the excess greed. The natives know all about this, and they would roll in their graves upon learning all their herds are all but gone. If we could utilize our technology without an imposition of "personal gain" we could have earth flourish with life greater than it ever could on its own without us. We can do it. If money == environment diversity than it would be done instantaneously. We just haven't been pushed into a corner hard enough to change our cancerous way.

Don't forget to check your cholesterol and take your heart medicine.

Depends on what kind of meat you eat. It's funny how all you vegans can name only one potential symptom while I can name at least a dozen for the vegan diet😂

What do you mean? People who blindly support carnivorism are putting their health at risk the same as any who abstains from blood. Both are equally dysfunctional, we are truly meant to be omnivores. If you deny this, you are cutting yourself off from what you need. No one with prejudice in food based on concepts of it's constituent parts have any idea of what their doing. No one knows how nutrition works. When in Rome, do as the romans do. All other animals don't struggle with this ideological dilemma, they somehow inherently know what to do, what to eat. We are the same, but fragmented.

We are omnivores. We need both plants and animals. This is so simple.

I care about animals. But I care about humans too ..

Truth is that vegan diet is not our natural diet otherwise it wouldn’t be that difficult to get it right.

Even with all the pills and shit people still have difficulty getting it right. At the end of the day we have to eat something alive to stay alive. That is how this universe works. Snake that eats its own tail.

The opposite of nostalgia is gratitude and acceptance of the present moment.

@Quader @Buck Edwards I'm an omnivore. Only thing not entirely clear to me is how to balance my veggies, carbs and meat/animal products and whether I should even eat carbs, etc. I don't have a very good diet at the moment but I wanna get there

A good diet also needs a lot of money. I mean it's not easy. All the healthiest choices. Plus discipline which I don't have. Maybe some day I get there.

@NewKidOnTheBlock What grows from the earth without some strange concoction of human "ingenuity*? Almost everything that is raw. The real issue is frozen crap and uber orders from fast food. If you learn to cook with wholesome ingredients (only one, or limited number of primarily pronounceable components per item) can you create something hearty, Most foods at that level are simply unpalatable. But the processed foods lean too much in the other direction with over salting, false-substitution, plastics and general favor for price -to- ingredient quality ratio. Cut out the middle man and buy it whole. No pre-sauced crap.

If you study how to cook well you will crave wholesome food and it won't be a chore anymore. Buuuut that requires a lot of effort because it could be a premade meal! Luckily there's enough recipe sites out there that can guide you through what intrigues you the most and you don't have to cook fully experimentally, a lot of ground work has been paved through. Many line cooks have died to deliver you this message.

Huh? Are you trying to pretend like we are having some kind of serious health discussion here? You wrote your dumb joke about nutrients, I responded in kind with cholesterol.

Or do you expect to write your edgy one liners and have people respond to you with a dissertation on health and nutrition?

Are you relocating to a cave anytime soon? Living in a house is not natural, otherwise you wouldn't need to put in so much money and resources to maintain it.

Most people who use this argument haven't even tried to make it work. In 99% of cases its just a lazy excuse.

And even omnivores need to take supplements, like omega 3 and D3, and other stuff depending on your bloodwork, if they want to be serious about health.

Also, good job posting clickbait garbage to back up your words.

Two can play this game. I can also find a tonn of random crap to post:

Just proves my point that most of people here are not capable of having a serious, good faith discussion.

Except the one with cholesterol doesn't hit as hard since it's negative effects are way wayyy overblown. Everyone knows that the real culprit is actually sugar.

And I don't care about debating. Eventually we'll see the effects of our diets on ourselves, and I'd dare to bet that I'm going to be fairly well off in that regard

Sure, "remember your 5 micronutrients" is a real heavy hitter, lmao.

What's going to happen is you are going to age and die like every other human that has ever existed. You might last 10 years longer or shorter but thats about it.

And, even if being omnivore was somehow healthier than veganism, I still wouldn't be willing to commit to slaughtering thousands of animals over my lifetime to extend my little existance for a little bit.

That's what you guys don't get. Veganism is not a diet, it's a set of values. It's about pursuing something greater than basic survival and self preservation, even at a cost to yourself.

This is what Leo has been talking about since forever. If you want to pursue love, truth, and consciousness, you are going to have to sacrifice your survival agenda to some degree.

If you only care about personally thriving and living as materially cushy of a life as possible, than your best friends are lying, cheating, manipulation, selfishness, and greed.

Good luck explaining veganism to young British lads. A lot of these kids are stage red, they have a lot of maturation to do before they can do anything but laugh at this guys.

Its funny, because back when I was living in Ukraine, as a kid, I always had this image of people in the west being super developed and cultured. Kind of like elves in lord of the rings.

And then when I grew up and came here, I've realised that people are basically the same.
