That's not real at all in my opinion. First, Lavrov is simply Putin's subordinate. Second, Putin invades Ukraine after 8 years of bombings by the Azov battalion on the Russian population in Dombass. Dombass wants to be Russian and annexation is possible. Ukraine will never be Russian and that is obvious, and even less so after this war.

If Putin had wanted to, he would have destroyed Ukraine like Chechnya, but that has not happened. This is a war for Dombass and to secure Crimea, two strategic places with enormous resources. The only thing Putin has done is to prevent the American project of balkanization and predation of Russia.

I recommend you check out Bob Woodward's seminal book on the Ukraine-Russia and Israel-Palestine conflicts, aptly titled "War". It dives deep into the behind-the-scenes dynamics of these wars, drawing on direct communication with bipartisan government and intelligence sources.

The book is also a compelling testament to the Biden administration's nuanced approach to these complex conflicts and their unwavering commitment to preventing nuclear escalation. Perhaps someday, Biden will receive his well-deserved Nobel Peace Prize for his selfless and integrous leadership.

You might be tempted to dismiss it as propaganda, but consider this: it was released just three weeks before this year's elections. A 400+ page investigative journalistic work isn’t exactly the kind of thing aimed at swaying swing voters at the last minute.

@Nilsi biden is the architect of the ucranian war, with Victoria Nuland. They provoked the coup, the Euro Maidan, and armed the Ukrainian army. When this was about to happen, they declared that Ukraine was going to join NATO. All politicians knew that this was impossible for Russia to accept and that it would lead to war. One of the Bidens objetive was the nord Stream, that was destroyed immediately.  I recommend the documentary Ukraine on Fire, 2016, Oliver stone, or the recent interview with Angela Merkel. Biden Nobel price....well. Btw, his drug addict son become millionaire being ceo of an ucranian gas company . Btw, I guess that you have listen the famous sentence: "fuck the Europeans", from Victoria Nuland right? Ask the Germans if they are fucked enough

I’m genuinely impressed by your willingness to so bluntly proclaim your chauvinism and imperialist fantasies, without even bothering to veil them in the politically correct rhetoric that most people here rely on when they proudly assert their superiority based on some supposed universal truths about human development.

You do realize that many of these so-called "inferior countries" existed and thrived for millennia before your empire stumbled onto the scene, raping, pillaging, and arrogantly claiming superiority?

These countries are and where dysfunctional regardless of American intervention. China had a  communist revolution then it became capitalist anyway. China has been improving as a country as a result in terms of poverty.

I do see problems with democracies. A way to treat them would be to change them into sort of a democratic meritocracies, in which all parties would be abolished. There would be no such thing as a left wing or a right wing anymore. All political marketing would be abolished and strictly prohibited as well. People would still vote online throught certain platforms and they'd be able to vote anytime, not just during certain periods, to vote in or vote out any individual they deem fit. On this site or this platform there would only be an offer of capable individuals for each department or ministry or whatever it's called. Genuine experts in their respective fields so to speak. Those people would then rule.

Voting pricess should be made inconvenient enough for stupid people to not be able to vote. You'd have to actually search all the information on how to vote for yourself, I would compare it to, for example, setting up your uni account and applying to all semester subjects, that whole process tends to be complex and tedious. That's how voting should look like as well.

I agree somewhat but a lot of underprivileged and disadvantaged people come from poor backgrounds. Do you think such a system would consider their concerns?

In many ways. The American objective is to weaken Russia and, if possible, to fragment it. The 2014 coup in Ukraine removes a pro-Russian government and puts in place an anti-Russian one. One of its first manifestations is to elevate Spephan Bandera to the category of national hero, having been pro-Nazi and the organizer of the extermination of Jews in Ukraine, and to initiate hostilities with the Russian-speaking part of Ukraine. In this climate, Crimea, inhabited by more than 70% Russians, decides to call a referendum to join Russia which wins by a wide margin with observers from more than 20 countries, after that Russia army entered in Crimea and it's annexed. Referendums are also held in the cities of Dombass, Donersk and Lugansk with similar results. A civil war begins in which the Azov battalion, of Nazi ideology and led by the former leader of the hooligans Dynamo of kyiv 😅 constantly bombs the Russian population in a war that no one talks about that lasts 8 years.

During this time, American military aid continues to arrive, greatly strengthening the Ukrainian army, which continues to attack the Russian population and build fortifications. In addition, 5 virus research laboratories are built near the American bases. After 8 years of pressure, it is announced that Ukraine will join NATO, with the possibility (certainty) of having nuclear weapons. In addition, the Ukrainian program includes the recovery of Crimea, and the Dombass is an area of enormous agricultural and mineral wealth. When the red line (widely accepted by anyone who knows politics) of Ukraine and NATO is crossed, Russia has two options: react or curl up in bed crying, that is, recognize that it is not a power but is impotent.

Russia attacks as we know and Biden uncorks the champagne because he thinks this will be his ruin. Ukraine is ready to fight and has inexhaustible weapons, and Russia is a sick giant that will demonstrate its weakness and go bankrupt economically. This does not happen, Russia, as other times, slowly wakes up. Russian ammunition factories work at an inexhaustible and growing pace, the alliance with China is strengthened, and in addition, by demonstrating its strength it begins to replace England and France as allies of African countries in need of military aid, to Macron's despair. Biden remains happy since the US is coming out of the crisis, all of Europe increases its share of the defense budget, great American business, and the Nord Stream is destroyed, so Germany must buy expensive American gas and enters into recession. Fuck the Europeans! But Russia rises as an indisputable military power ready for real war. America, do you dare to send 100,000 young people to their death? Russia yes. China is getting stronger and its alliance with Russia is solid. The military balance is shifting. The power is now in Russia. It seems banal, but it is not at all. And Putin is hailed as the most important leader in the world and his support in Russia is total. Who wins? Seems that not USA, even it has been a huge business

Watch in YouTube the documentary ucraine in fire, Oliver stone 2016, much before the war, it contains interview to Putin and to the former president of ucraine. I know that Oliver stone is controversial and inclined to one side, but it's a great introduction in this topic. This topic reveals the magnitude of the lie of the western press, it's incredible.

@Breakingthewall And what of the people of Ukraine? Clearly their lives are just Putin’s to sacrifice however he wishes, right?

The conflict between Ukraine and Russia is complex and comes from a long time ago. Anti-Russian sentiment in Ukraine is deep and the powers interested in war have known how to use it. Ukraine allied itself with Hitler in the war against the Russians, Stalin cut off supplies to Ukraine and caused the so-called Holodomor, a famine where 2 to 12 million Ukrainians died (depending on the sources), with the purpose of repopulating part of Ukraine with Russians (Dombass). All this is fertile ground for war. Khrushchev, in order to try to unite Russia with Ukraine, gave Crimea to Ukraine, like a gift, according to him this way they would never separate... all extremely complicated. In this climate, the United States is working hard to promote the coup d'état of 2014, and after this, heat up the atmosphere for war. Putin did not want war, he wanted a subordinate Ukraine, not a Ukraine led by anti-Russian ultra-nationalists with nuclear weapons, obviously. Putin is strategically minimizing attacks on civilians, despite Ukrainian provocations, since his ultimate goal is an allied Ukraine.

@Breakingthewall And do you really think the Ukrainians will want to ally with him now, after he occupied a fifth of their territory, killed thousands of their civilians and turned millions more into refugees? If there was ever a slim chance of Ukraine staying by Russia’s side before all this, that chance is now gone and Ukraine will want to move more close to the West than ever

Yes I guess that after this would be impossible and Ukraine would be totally independent and isolated from Russia but without the dombass. But with the Slavs who knows. Now Chechenia and Putin are good friends

No system considers their concerns. Realistically. This system I've just described is the best we can do in my opinion. Definitely objectively better than any goverment we've ever had on Earth and we never ever had such a system. The only thing unclear to me is how would such a system remain stable and who or what would be keeping the order. There would need to be a lot of checks and balances and maybe even A.I. would have to play some role in this system

The Pope has also similarly asked for the restoration of dialogue between the two warring parties.

Pope Francis has called for negotiations between Ukraine and Russia to end the war triggered by Russia's invasion of Ukraine in 2022.

In his traditional Christmas Day address, the Pope said "boldness [was] needed to open the door" to dialogue "in order to achieve a just and lasting peace" between the two sides.
