Forever Young

12 posts in this topic

Recently, I have been contemplating the fact that I will be 40 in just a few years. I feel a bit horrified and struggle to accept it. Then, Spotify randomly played that song.

Retrospectively, 4 decades pass too quickly. Life is, indeed, too short. I feel mono no aware because my 20s have passed, and soon, my 30s will also be gone.

An aspect of me wants to cling to my youth. How about you? Do you want to live eternally?

I had never heard the song until Spotify played it without asking for my permission. I researched the song and was surprised that it has been in existence for 40 years.

So, I feel worried about becoming 40 soon because an aspect of me wants to stay young eternally. Then, the song "Forever Young", which was released 40 years ago, was forced into my ears. >:( The universe is teasing me.

No, I would not want to live enternally, not in the present day environment, having to deal with unconscious ppl, the economic system and just everything about the culture, generally I dislike it, we could do so much better than how we are doing it now, so No, plus when the body gets older it just is not what it used to be, get ready for some part of Your body to be hurting most of the time, I'm in my mid 50's now, I've worked out, did martial arts and yoga and stretching all sorts of health releated empowerments, my back troubles me, knees are getting older, and such, so no matter what You do mostly the body starts to break down eventually, but even if I had an eternally young body, I wouldn't want to live forever, even if I was Blissful in nature, as that too gets boring too they say:)

Humans are meant to evolve Spiritually sooner or later, You lose physicality and mental capacity and friends family as You age, because this is natures way of bringing focus on our Inner Nature, once You do that, then Life is fixed and You will go back to Absolute after physical death..so this is how it works as I understand it...

By better, I assume you are referring to a Resource Based Economy. Is that correct? Or are you referring to UBI?

Damn! That's what I fear about becoming old aside from the appearance deteriorating. I hope you are handling those problems well.

How has your sleep been over the past 20 years? Is it high quality? As in, deep and at least 7 hours long?

And how about your diet? Did you regularly eat fruits and vegetables?

That's a good point. But would you want to stay eternally young for at least 100 years, or you're satisfied with how things are?

I would want to stay young for at least 500 years. :D

Resource Based Economy for sure!!

I handle it decent, I do preventative stuff daily, much more than before, before I would stretch and workout not just for health but for martial arts purposes and looks, now I don't workout at all, my job is very active, I walk min 10km a day, and up and down and lifting and moving, so that is enough for me, I do 2 stretching routines in the morning, one at home and one at work, short ones, and I use tens machines and chiropractor to help with deeper problems,,, I injest vit D3, vit C, Calcium/Mag/Zinc on the regular, my diet is the worst part of my routine, but I have good genetics, I'm naturally small boned and thin..

I would have liked a few more years of physical youth, most ppl think I am in my late 30's when they meet me, when I say I am 56 they are shocked, probably because I have no grey hairs yet:)

I agree. But no, probably won't materialize in our lifetimes. We have no choice but to endure capitalism and corruption.

That sounds a good daily routine.

Vitamin D is very powerful. It preserves bone strength and is anti-cancer.

I don't like ingesting artificial vitamins, so I bathe in the sunlight every few days. Sunlight is an all-in-one package; it also strengthens the muscles, veins, immune system, improves sleep, and even increases testosterone. I don't have the medical evidence, but my intuition on this one is strong, so I take it as truth. And the fact that I feel healthier and more masculine after doing it for a few months, confirms it.

I don't know what to say. I hope you'll find a way to rectify it because I remember watching a documentary which showed people who regularly eat fruits and veggies tend to live at least 10 years longer than those who don't.

You're lucky.

Oh! That can be an inspiration. Now, I have 2 gray hairs and I don't like it. But I still probably look younger than my age despite gaining some weight.

This song reminds me of my ex who fled the war in Ukraine. Aah the memories...

Don't worry you're still beautiful baby.

Even if your face is more wrinkled.

Even if you're losing your hair.

I prefer old to young. Young is dumb and old is bold. Young you have to listen and follow and believe, Old you can assert yourself authentically and not give a shit. The young have to impress to get anywhere. The old can be true to themselves for the first time. The young cannot love only the old can. Only when you know you have less breaths left than already breathed can you see things correctly, namely tomorrow never actually comes so do everything today or forget about it. Only the old can be grateful for life. Not everyone gets the gift of the second half of life.

I see you have no wrinkles in the profile photo, most likely asian genetics. Their skin tends to age slower biologically

You should always strive to feel and look as young as possible (naturally ofc), and live as long as possible. But death is ultimately a good thing, life tends to get less and less exciting as you age, simply by repeated exposure to experiences. We shouldn't play Gods and try to extend our lives too much yet we still try to accomplish just that
