Remember what happened in Iran?

Again, comparing what happened to other countries with a country like Syria is too myopic.

Syria has its own political, geographical, historic situation and so you can’t predict or compare it to any other county nearby.

I would advise to stop speculating and see what happens in the next couple of days and weeks on the ground.

How is it too myopic? What is the case in Syria such that the risk of this occuring is not present?

It’s closeness with isreal

the Syrian people which include Christians, Sunnis, Alwaites, Ismailis, Druze, Armenian, Turkmens make it a very very diverse county and we lived together peacefully for hundreds of year even before Assad

its geographical location which ties Europe and Asia together

Syria can be completely self sufficient and has all the resources to live off and prosper, we have the oil, the fertile land, and had many booming industries before Assad

people can’t comphrend how much the Assad family stole from Syria after ruling for 60 years. They treated Syria as a farm.

All those factors make Syria unique and you can’t really compare it to any other country.

I think the Syrian democratic forces should lay back and let the Islamist rebels take over, otherwise there will be another civil war. Then when the Islamist’s feel they are in a secure position convince them that the Democratic forces will help them retake the golan heights, when they try  israel will go to war with the Islamist’s let them bear the brunt of the attacks, then after it’s over take advantage of the now weakened state of the Islamist’s and overthrow them and establish a Democratic Syria.

But what comes next?

Vlad says that it probably will get worse for the country like it did for Libya after the fall of Gaddafi or like what happened to Iraq after the fall of Saddam Hussein:

No it won’t. Read my reasoning above. I’m not taking my news about syria  from non Syrians who haven’t been in the struggle for 14 years.

You are also speculating though. You are speculating that it’ll turn out "good"

No I’m not, I’m just too happy and tired to explain right now. Hehe

@integration journey It’s fine to be happy for overthrowing Assad who caused a lot of suffering. My Syrian friends are celebrating also.

It’s just that the situation needs to be dealt with properly to fulfil Syrian aspirations. Julani may speak well and be moderate himself, but who is he surrounded by or allying with? If they aren’t they will clash or drag things towards the more fundamentalist side.

@integration journey I can give you the benefit of doubt because you claim to be from there. But that doesn't give you any validity to your claims that these rebels will now make syria prosper. It's literally the Al Qaeda you are talking about.

These rebels have a habit of appearing moderate before they snatch power just like the Ayatollah did before 1979. Once they are in power you are going to see a new face of theirs. It will take a while, but that's what it is going to end up in.

Being a Syrian, you also hold biases of being one, which we don't and we can evaluate the Situation based on facts and historical precedence. But you know the ground reality better than all of us, I understand that.

Israel, US want a fundamentally weak Syria. They will keep it as such and further suffocate and sanction the already crumbling society. Unfortunately the west won in their regime change operations once again.

Terrorist organizations often become more moderate if they become political parties.

The issue is if the west doesn’t let up the sanctions on Syria they will have a lot of issues developing as now they lost Russia and Iranian economic support.

The Syrian people won, not the west.
I will save my response for the next couple of days and weeks so I can prove to you that Syria will prosper, it will take years yes but the real work just began.
you are minimizing the situation when you say Al qaeda took over. Syrian rebel groups united to save Syria. Syrians learned after 10 years of war not to be affiliated with extremist groups. Read above who is the new prime minister.
Syria will prosper, mark my words.
people change, Syrians learned after 10 years.
imagine this analogy : Before discovering actualized.org , I lacked a lot of understanding about spirituality and consciousness and was making a lot of mistakes in my personal life  but now I can confidently say that I’m changed because of actualized org.  Same thing with Syrians, the war taught us to be united and to create a better Syria. We learned after 14 years of war what is right and what is wrong because of direct experience.

Bruh. Have the Syrian people not suffered enough?
No they shouldn't be doing this at all.
They should advise against starting a war with Israel.
I know this is just a hypothetical but good lord, can we stop treating the middle east like their lives don't matter.

Iran and Russia never provided actual economic support. They only funded the Assad regime to keep it standing. And the Assad regime was the biggest terrorist organization ever so everything else is better than them.

The Syrian democratic forces are done. They have no place in Syria. The Kurds are part of Syria but that milita isn’t. It’s a matter of days and weeks and Syria is done with them.

Because if islamists are in charge it will continue being economically crushed and get weaker, and aggressive states will continue to exploit it. I’m speaking strategically.

Yeah, yeah, Monday morning will bring reality, but let them celebrate today - they’ve earned it.

I’m truly happy for the people of Syria. May God bless them.

“Did you ever say Yes to a single joy? O my friends, then you said Yes to all woe as well. All things are chained and entwined together, all things are in love; if ever you wanted one moment twice, if ever you said: ‘You please me, happiness! Abide, moment!’ then you wanted everything to return!” - Friedrich Nietzsche

I’m part of the rebels

What does this mean? Are you in a militia? Leadership position?
