No thing is the same than everything. Sure, it's obvious. The absolute is no thing in the sense that it's nothing definite, but it's everything. It's quite simple. 

But then the people say: reality is nothing, zero. They misunderstood that teaching

Do you want to realize the absolute? Remove everything, every structure until absolutely no form remains, then the absolute remains, and that's the substance of reality, that is, you.
