Openai is releasing new products every day part of their 12-days of Christmas theme.
Today is the third day and they released Sora.

It is the best model I've seen so far. It's part of their $200 plan to get unlimited Generations in relax mode.

@Leo Gura If tomorrow they release a model that can take all my source code and add any feature I want perfectly on the first try, but it requires 100 times the compute power and cost, I would be forced to buy it. The time it takes to implement any feature is incredibly challenging in any domain, so a model that could do it perfectly on the first try without any bugs would be worth at least a monthly salary.

That's if they did that today. Now with Advancements they will be able to lower that cost significantly, but at some point they'll always be able to give the exact same offer. No matter how advanced the system is at least for the next 10 years you can always make an offer and say "pay $3,000 a month for a model 100 times better than any other model".

There will be a long period of consolidation before this kind of proposition won't be viable anymore.

There's your mistake.

There are no such models and no evidence to suggest they will exist.

If it actually was 100 times better then there would be no problem paying 100 times more for it.

In the end it's a simple value calculation. Either a model offers you $3000/mo in value or it does not. If it does then just pay for it. And if it doesn't then don't worry about it.

In the end $200/mo is nothing for a tool. Real tools can costs hundreds of thousands and millions. AI is just a tool. And from your POV the real value is not in using AI but building your own skills, since AI will just be a commodity like a calculator or MS Office. That's not where the serious value is for you. Don't get lost in all this AI hype, keep your eye on the real value: your own development.
