Different Music for different kinds of psychedelics

16 posts in this topic

I heard if you take DMT there is a special music taste which harmonizes best.

So I ask me if we can make a list which suits on different psychedelics. I make a start:

  • LSD/Al-lad: Allrounder for all kind of music
  • Shrooms: shamanic drumps
  • Ketamin: Techno music, trance
  • MDMA: Allrounder
  • 5 Meo DMT: classic music (Wagner)
  • 5 Meo malt: ?
  • Nn-DMT: ?

I would be especially interested what kind of music you can hear on 5 Meo.

Me personally I throw on some metal (specifically Tool) when I do nn Dmt.

Kendrick Lamars: How to Pimp a Butterfly was definitely an memorable experience on Shrooms, so much energy!

And kinda stereotypical but Pink Floyds The Dark Side of the Moon was also quite a ride and changed the tune forever for me. Every drum, every guitar, every sound becomes a character and expresses something meaningful. Especially in this one:

“If you're going to try, go all the way. Otherwise, don't even start. This could mean losing girlfriends, wives, relatives and maybe even your mind. It could mean not eating for three or four days. It could mean freezing on a park bench. It could mean jail. It could mean derision. It could mean mockery--isolation. Isolation is the gift. All the others are a test of your endurance, of how much you really want to do it. And, you'll do it, despite rejection and the worst odds. And it will be better than anything else you can imagine. If you're going to try, go all the way. There is no other feeling like that. You will be alone with the gods, and the nights will flame with fire. You will ride life straight to perfect laughter. It's the only good fight there is.”

Pink Floyd albums are mind-blowing on psychedelics xD

For me the best psychedelic listening experiences have never been about the specific psyche but which ever one can take me to a nondual breakthrough, listening right after the point your ego dies and is just starting to knit itself back together, the untapped emotional bliss after an experience like that is what makes the music truly orgasmic.

The hard part is actually remembering to do it because you have to surrender the person that wants to do it in order to breakthrough in the first place:D

@Francis777 so what music do you recommend after coming back from an ego death experience?

You're sitting here with us, but you're also out walking in a field at dawn.
You are yourself the animal we hunt when you come with us on the hunt.

You're in your body like a plant is solid in the ground. yet you're wind. You're the diver's clothes lying empty on the beach. You're the fish.

In the ocean are many bright strands and many dark strands like veins that are seen when a wing is lifted up.

Your hidden self is blood in those, those veins that are lute strings that make ocean music, not the sad edge of surf, but the sound of no shore.

Whatever your favourite is I guess, everything sounds brand new in that state, I usually just shuffle till I stick on something, then I might run through the album. My point was that when you are that relaxed you are at your peak receptivity to all sound, your senses are tuned up to a million, and your mind is so open and free that it starts to act like a hollow instrument that reverberates and amplifies any music that get played to it, its like you get the atmosphere of an entire concert for every song.

Plan for it next time you intend on trying for an ego death, you've only really got like a couple hours after to do it before your ego starts to really meld back together at which point everything will be toned down a notch and you'll miss out on the peak. It's a specific way to experience music that you cant really get any other way. I've only had it a handful of times in my life and they were some of the best experiences I've ever had.

I personally would not suggest to hear anything unless it's binary beats, solfeggio frequencies and meditation music with natural sounds. Also 528 hz is amazing as a background to your trips
