Enlightenment is not about Insanity

Enlightenment is not Insanity

I see people on this forum, including Leo, sometimes equating Enlightenment or expanding your consciousness with insanity. States of high fear, which generate insanity, can often be part of the process but aren't the end point. When you are expanding your consciousness that process can in a sense force your fears to your conscious attention because the fear is what constricts and prevents your consciousness from expanding. If you take a potent psychedelic it can drastically expand your consciousness too rapidly then you were prepared to handle thus it can bring you into a temporary state of insanity. That doesn't mean expanding your consciousness is about insanity. Insanity is not the end point to the expansion of consciousness, it's part of the process if you are confronting deep and strong fears, you go through it so you can clear out those fears. It's important to understand we are not working to make ourselves go insane, that's incredibly foolish and is a huge misunderstanding of the overall spiritual process. You need to be very specific on where insanity fits into the overall process, it's obviously not the end point.

Insanity is generated by high levels of fear. Here's a post that explains fear and how to let it go:

Its been said that when one starts on this path or way of life that everything speeds up, Your Karma is being burned up much more quickly than normal, normal can mean multiple or hundreds of lifetimes, with authentic Spiritual Path you try to do it within this lifetime, so shit comes to the surface and it has to be dealt with, that is why its important to get the basics done first, establishing a healthy state of Being no matter what is going on...

Yes, higher levels of consciousness will bring out unconscious misalignments more rapidly than you would face with a lower level of consciousness, it accelerates the process.

It just needs to be clear that any insanity that might arise isn't the end goal to the process, it's coming up so you can clear it out.

Yes totally...that is why I like the 8 path Yogic process, it deals with all of this in a systematic way, so the process is much cleaner and smooth. If one does it on their own, they run into too many challenges that tons of ppl have already been thru and dealt with, so why go that route when One can do it much better, ego I guess.

Totally agree, enlightenment is the path of the real sanity. The straight behavior, clean mind, open heart.

Could seem insanity for some if you compare it with the worldy behavior, but what is insanity is being a greedy person who want to fuck prostitutes when he's married and drink every day😅, quite high level or insanity .

Path of enlightenment is absolutely straight, is looking the existence in the face, and could seem insane because you are the first one in the universe who is doing it if you do. But the existence is perfect, then if you are open to it, there is not insanity

I don't think so, when you are in the path the path reveals itself,  The life is the path.

Fear is not insanity. And insanity is not generated by fear.

If you actually experienced insanity you would be rightfully very afraid.

Higher consciousness does transcend sanity. But almost nobody understands that.

@Leo Gura Would you say that fear generates/leads to states of insanity? I've experienced such profound states of consciousness that I could only define them as utter insanity. From my observations you have to have the fear before the state of insanity is even possible.

No.

Insanity is generated by higher consciousness. The fear is just your reaction to it.

If you are in a state without bias, that's required to open yourself to the absolute, sanity or insanity means nothing

@Da77en In my experience, insanity from Infinite Consciousness feels ecstatically powerful. Only a sane mind has fear, one who is insane has no fear; all the safety mechanisms of mind are taken out (fear included), you are allowed to explore your full potential, which is dangerous. Being sane is a good limitation for human minds. Insanity is the proper Mind disposition to appreciate the God-Dream.

God-Realize, this is First Business. Know that unless I live properly, this is not possible.

There is this body, I should know the requirements of my body. This is first duty. We have obligations towards others, loved ones, family, society, etc. Without material wealth we cannot do these things, for that a professional duty.

There is Mind; mind is tricky. Its higher nature should be nurtured, then Mind becomes Virtuous and Conscious. When all Duties are continuously fulfilled, then life becomes steady. In this steady life God is available; via 5-MeO-DMT, ... Living in Self-Love, Realizing I am Infinity & I am God

@Leo Gura I think I understand the overall realm of the states your talking about. States that go so outside the ordinary human experience that it would be absolutely impossible to describe them to anyone and if anyone started to experience them they would think they have gone absolutely insane. I see the value of such states as long as people are able to eventually let go of the fear that those states can bring out.

I agree. I would say it primarily goes down to each persons definition of sanity/insanity. A well rounded state from my perspective means you can be the most radical individual on the planet while also being the most grounded. Absolute radicalness with complete grounded-ness.

Those states have no relation with enlightenment, are just states, enlightenment is not a state

@Breakingthewall I would say it depends on your definition of enlightenment. If we are talking about the realization of the illusory self, technically that's still a state. I define everything as different states/frequencies of consciousness, including any realization, awareness, etc.

Insanity is a domain of consciousness which could be explored.

Of course you don't wanna become mentally unhinged. Which you could if you explore those realms too much.

There is only one enlightenment, open yourself to the absolute. The self is illusory of not depending of your definition of "illusory", without that definition isn't illusory or not, but the absolute is absolute. To realize that the self is illusory first you should think that itsnt illusory, if you are out of those ideas then doesn't mean nothing

You also could explore the domain of consciousness: being in the war killing people and receiving bombs, sure it's quite insane
