Breaking News: Syrian Rebels have entered Aleppo

So why did they support rebels at all? If they wanted him in power just do nothing, or directly support him.

Because they know he is so weak by himself they need to counterbalance the process. And it’s not like they supported the rebels 24/7. They would support them at some point but then suddenly stop all support when they felt like they were about to topple Assad.

Or they wanted Assad toppled and supported the rebels but when it didn’t work because Iran and Russia intervened and refugees started spilling out and the rebels got more jihadist they got cold feet and stopped

Good point but you have to differentiate between true rebels and Jihadists. Assad didn’t release Islamist prisonsers in 2012 just because. He wanted the Syrian revolution to become Islamic so he can say he fighting terrorism. He is a clever devil because it worked for him.

It took Syria, Iran, and Russia four years to capture Aleppo and the Rebels took it back within hours.

Yeah with the way things have turned out, its in Israel's and the US's interest now to boot the regime out and create a buffer state for Israel between Iran and Lebanon etc. Before it was merely useful to get involved, now its a higher priority and with Russia pulling forces out from everywhere, stretching what's its got thin, I think the regime is done.

What we might see is Iran, North Korea or indirectly China fighting there. This is where the US and Iran might fight, or their special forces at least

I don’t think America will allow islamists to rule in Syria. They want someone with no dignity who listens to them like Assad.
even if islamists rule, I don’t think the majority of Syrians will like that either.
All we want is a strong leader who focuses on rebuilding Syria so we can rise up. We have the capabilities. Assad puts in prison everyone who challenges him that’s why you don’t hear of alternatives. The next Syrian leader has to be strategic with dealing with America and Europe and build good relationships with them as much as possible.

In essence, the next Syrian leader has to focus on rebuilding Syria and build good economic relationships with other countries. not on keeping control of power.

Yea this is how Syria can be free of sanctions. By being allied with the west. But this is why Iran plays a big role in Syria. And the reason why America and Israel has always had an interest in the destabilization of it.

Even with a new leader, I think a submissive and economically dependent on foreign aid Syria is what Israel wants. If there is a regime change, Syria will just be another Egypt or Jordan. What Israel wants, it gets:

(Peep how easily he gaslights and lies too, absolutely gross)

Updates:

In Aleppo specifically.

Red is control by The Syrian Arab Army (the Government), yellow is control by the Democratic Forces, and green by the Rebels.

  • Syrian opposition forces capture more than 100 towns and villages, take control of most of Aleppo, cut off the M5 highway, and advance towards Hama
  • Syrian Democratic Forces capture multiple villages and parts of Aleppo

It’s interesting how it will evolve. The government in Syria is corrupted and underdeveloped. It deserves it.

Info dump on this yesterday.

Turkish F4 Phantom intercepts Iranian F14. There is a ground clip of it.

Very unpredictable which force will win out.

My prediction is that Syria will not have one government but two or more areas of control. One for Turkey, One for Israel and One for Iran. Unless one government can somehow walk this tightrope between the regional powers.

@BlueOak True, very hard to predict. Syria is a mosh pit of empires, so many outside interests all colliding here. Turkey, Iran, Russia, Israel/US. Unfortunately a great country with a great history ruined with innocents displaced and dead.

It's a fuzzy place with tangled alliances and interests. There's a genuine grassroots movement for democracy due to a disenfranchised majority being ruled by a minority (a recipe for instability and resentment) which then gets hijacked and mixed in with extreme terrorist factions who are anti-democratic and fundamentalist hunting down Christians and minorities. Then there's a combination of US/Israel/3 letter agencies supporting them to overthrow Assad in order to serve their own interests.

It's odd that at the same time Israel / Lebanon agree on a cease fire this springs up, also Georgia now kicking off. Possibly - With Ukraine and Israel both struggling, Syria serves to weaken both their opponents. Hezbollah's supply lines can be choked off via Syria and Russia can be bogged down in the mess too. Georgia can become another thorn in Russia's ass also.

On the one hand no one wants extremists to overthrow and come in to power (how can we know if it will be the rebels or the extremer factions who will force their way into power) - but no one wants a minority dictator either who suppresses political dissent / plurality and is brutal.

It’s sad.

I would have loved to visit those ancient sites.

Babylonian, Assyrian, Sumerian etc.

The Fertile Crescent.

„the cradle of civilisation“

In Iraq, Iran, Syria etc.

But these religious lunatics are destroying everything. Also those backwards dictators and the wests and worlds hunger for oil.

This is something that many Christians don’t realize of how important it is that Israel is controlling ancient places. Without this control many of them couldn’t access these areas.

I liked reading your analysis but I disagree with the point that US and isreal wants to overthrow Assad, that’s just wrong. Isreal wants Assad to stay because he is the perfect weak neighbor that can’t do shit to hurt isreal.

A civil war.

There's Bashar Al Assad's regime, but he's lost the North. There are the Kurds there, which the Turkish hate, so I'm not sure if that alliance has a bright future. Russia and the US have been pushing their interests, as well as Iran, and I guess Israel, who disputes the Golan Heights in the South at least. Russia has its hands full now, which may have been a factor in turning the tables. All seems quite messy from the outside, we'll see.

Saying it’s just a civil war is a misperception of what’s  actually happening.
Syrians are getting rid of Iranian bases who are foregin invaders.
It’s a Syrian revolution to take the country back to actual Syrians.
