Which Gun Do You Guys Recommend?

30 posts in this topic

I am going back and forth between getting the Glock 19, Walther PPK, or the M1911. This is my first gun, and I want to get a high quality gun.

What do you all recommend?

I dont know why you asking this on self development forum.I dont know nothing about guns, but if you want higher quality answer you should put for what you want a gun.For home self defense, for shooting range its different answer for different scenarios.

I want it for self-defense and target practice. I want to get good at shooting. Also, self-defense is part of self development. Even Leo has admitted to owning a gun.

I want all around. I am an adventurer, so I want one where I can use while hiking and one I can keep under my pillow. I definitely want self-offense lol.

Glock is probably the best out of three in terms of overall performance and reliability. Big enough for shooting at range but small enough for concealed carry. An M1911 is heavy and has a fairly low capacity (8 rounds). A PPK is a talking piece at best.

Only downside to a Glock is that its butt ass ugly.

I got Glock 19 Gen 3 for $525. The previous owner only fired 20 rounds in it. I fired it the other day and it is badass. It has a good recoil.

As a beginner id recommend the Glock19. As its a good all around gun with a good magazine capacity. The 1911 will be too powerful as a new shooter being 45 caliber and only holds 7+1 rounds. The ppk can be a good newbie gun too but its recommended to have a higher magazine capacity. Most people miss and require more rounds in a self defense situation.

Focus on the solution, not the problem
