If truth is the guide, there's no need for ideology, right or left.

Maturity in discussion means the ability to separate ideas from identity so one can easily recognize new, irrefutable information as valid, and to fully integrate it into one’s perspective—even if it challenges deeply held beliefs. Both recognition and integration are crucial: the former acknowledges truth, while the latter ensures we are guided by it.

“It is said that there are close to 300 common-day phrases that actually come from the Bible,” said Mary Castle, director of government relations for Texas Values, a right-leaning advocacy group. “So students will benefit from being able to understand a lot of these references that are in literature and have a way to be able to comprehend them.”

I agree with her. There’s a lot of slaying in the Bible.

I hope kids will learn their rights as an individual

you shouldn’t be forced to practice a religion but unfortunately America doesn’t see children as individuals or people.

they see children as lesser or servants, etc.

you’re not suppose to back talk, you’re not supposed to say you don’t want to.
to me this is gross and I feel bad for the kids.
school should be a safe place. And it’s increasingly becoming more of a hostile place.
with school shootings and then alongside shoving the Bible down children’s throats.
://

I doubt this is going to benefit them. And depression and anxiety in children might even sky rocket.  Not to mention suicide from lgbtqia.

I know not all teachers are the same however.
my teacher for an example was a very safe place to be queer, and I was able to forget about the problems that was going on at home. And just be a kid. :/
it wasn’t until high school did I encounter a teacher like her, but if the teachers can’t be a good example I’m praying that the kids have good friends to lean and depend on.
community is everything.

I wonder if tons and tons of people who aren't conservatives will be fleeing from red states to purple or blue states now that the MAGA Republicans will totally control all of the red states.

I think that stuff will just backfire very much at some point.

You can’t force religion on people in 2024.

It‘s like the woke movement trying to force their views on people. Or the Iranian govt trying to force islmic views on people. Eventually people will get really annoyed with you. And form an opposition.

I hope so.

Otherwise, if they try to fuck with us, our freedom, or our families, then we will have to take them on in combat by brute force.

I am actually glad that I trained very hard to become a highly trained martial artist and that I still have some dangerous weapons in my home. Though, I think I now am going to need to stock up on more brutal weapons for even better protection and get some armor like a bulletproof vest.

@Hardkill You hope so? You're no different from people literally wishing someone's child molester allegations were true just so they get cancelled for it. You're hoping these MAGA Trumpers will raid your home right now so you could have an excuse to kill them. You're off base. Just because devilry exist doesn't mean there's people out there to kill. You need to check yourself before you've become another post-election incident

I don't think you realize that our country could very well be headed for such untold violence and widespread civil unrest that's never been seen before.

Even Professor Mearsheimer warned in one of his interviews not too long ago, how much trouble we are all in because of the grave threat of authoritarianism and growing conflicts going on in our country and in many other parts of the world.

So this is what it's like to live in a black-and-white world: You expect that the most dystopian movies you've ever seen will become reality if an election doesn't go exactly the way you wanted...

As say they: hope for the best and prepare for the worst.

If a traditional or more normal Republican were to be president like Eisenhower, Reagan, or the Bushes then I could live with that even though I wouldn't like it. However, Trump is a totally abnormal Republican president. He hasn't just committed "war crimes" like every other president in US History has. He's a convicted felon and rapist. He destroys everything around him. He's a fascist to his core and will have more power than any other president before him has ever had.

Dark times are ahead and God only knows what they really are.

No, don’t do that. That’s a recipe for a really miserable life.

Also: If you go around being afraid of and hostile to large parts of the country, you may actually end up in some kind of trouble you're preparing yourself for, but it will be entirely your own fault.

“Leslie Recine, who was appointed by Gov. Greg Abbott [Trump lover] to temporarily fill a vacant State Board of Education seat, sits at a Friday meeting in Austin during which the board approved a new state curriculum that critics say overemphasizes Christianity. Recine was the deciding vote in approving the curriculum. Abbott appointed Recine to fill the seat through the end of the year, bypassing Democrat Tiffany Clark, who was elected earlier this month to serve in that role starting next year.”

Let that sink in. The culture wars, begone  they have not. This is only the tip of the pitchfork.
