Inquiring into a particular piece of Leos blog post on politics.

Humanity and the planet desperately need people with a grounded epistemic understanding actively participating in politics. I do understand that just by participating in the game you cannot have a perfect epistemic grounding. Such is the nature of subjectivity. However, is there not a dialectic between active participation and understanding in truth? Something that would lead to a higher order sythesis that resolves this contradiction? Surely, there is a way to participate in something without becoming an agent for whichever game you are participating in.

Choose carefully to me sounds like an opportunity to dive into this tension and work with the relationship between these two seemingly opposing forces. Any ideas on how to resolve this tension?

You can try to please both masters but that's a difficult undertaking. I wouldn't trust people to get that balance right.

But if you know what you're doing then yeah, you can do that.

Given our current contexts, I believe it is a difficult undertaking worth the risk.

Daniel Schmachtenberger seems like a reasonable example of attempting to weave this thread with some success.

Yeah but it's like those early guys that were into science too and look what happened.  They got excommunicated. 

You guys should like at how many centuries it took for the Catholic church to lose control to science.   Most scientists who challenged the Catholic church were isolated or killed.  Same thing now.  You have to fly under the radar if you are going to push a more advanced agenda.   It's just the way it is right now.  Eventually things just happen on their own.

The thing you missed in your blog post is that if the politician even was conscious of the choice you proposed that would be something in of itself.  If they were even aware and conscious that they were selling their soul.  The sad reality is that none of them are even aware of anything outside of their current perspective.   Otherwise they would be awake.  Otherwise they would have a meta perspective.   So I know you're trying to enlighten some folks about this - but honestly it falls on deaf ears.  

And the attack on voters - well - yes most of them are very ignorant.  But those that have explored different perspectives- they may still come to the conclusion that a change was needed, for survival purposes, that doesn't necessarily mean a deal with the Devil.   Because maybe if you really, really look things holistically, you would see that survival and the advancement of society can in fact be One.  It just may be very deceptive on the surface as to how that plays out.  Meaning long term it ended up being the best thing that could have happened. As opposed to something that seemed obvious at the beginning but led to a possibility that would have even further extended overall growth of the human race.

It's more tricky than that because you also create what is.

Specifically, this means enabling trustworthy cooperation between powers, aligning incentives with the well-being of all life in perpetuity, catalyzing a cultural awakening into Love and connection with Nature and each other, Educating the public and key decision makers on the metacrisis, and much more.

But honestly, I don't know how to get to these ends or even what most of them might look like. Reality is far too complex for my puny human brain to make sense of. I am leaning a lot on my intuition to figure out what my actions should be. My skills are in Film, 3D art, and programming and I feel called to help.

I have started building a non-profit where I am planning to make the best possible films educating others on the metacrisis and imbuing them with a sense of sacredness for all life.

The non-profit is called Your Local Planet. I am in a transition period in my life and am just now doing the very beginnings of this work. I have built a website yourlocalplanet.com that only works on mobile for now. Since I haven't made films yet, the website is dedicated to sharing resources that have helped me make sense of the world and the metacrisis.

It's still a democracy.  It's still the land of dreams. Many would give anything to be here to make a life.  To be a creator here in the land of opportunity.   And it still is.

The problem is we've all forgotten how to be creative.  But you haven't.
