I don't do the strong determination sitting but I do meditate and can meditate for weeks straight. When it comes to your idea of no consciousness, I don't agree. We are probably just defining things very differently.

Maybe brother. As long as you / we are happy.

@James123 I agree, expanding my consciousness makes me very fulfilled but I never settle because there's always more.

From my perspective, expansion of consciousness is extremely important and even if you have to go through immense challenges to do so. It's still takes work and is very vital to do, if we want a healthy world it's going to take a lot of collective expansion of consciousness.

Of course. However, if all the world is within, and when you realize what you are, everything is already beauty?

You are always death. Sleep, birth or consciousness is just your imagination :)

This is what I’m conflicted about. I don’t know really what the self is, if it’s real or not, illusory or not etc.

The self is the appearance of movement, that something is happening. This creates a mental structure throughout life, based on genetic impulses such as fear and desire for acceptance, which is very solid. it is like a mental flow capsule that creates a permanent distinction between me and not me, and that cannot stop for a moment.

This mental flow is not illusory, non-existent, false, as it exists. it is totally real. what we call enlightenment is something that passes through the deep understanding of this mental flow through meditation, in order to open this structure and temporarily stop the movement, and at the same time open your heart. your heart is closed by fear, to open it fear must absolutely disappear for a moment. there are many layers of fear in us, all of which are based on death, disappearance, but they manifest themselves in many ways, such as fear of not being accepted or losing control. to open your heart is to totally let go of fear, to look directly at the bottomless abyss of reality and give yourself to it. It is not an easy thing, the self is not going to want to do this, to force the psychedelics they can work.

in the total absence of fear and mental movement, reality appears as absolute emptiness, the consciousness of the body is totally lost, the breath ,is nothing left, total emptiness without limit. you have to get used to this and stay there, at first it is terrifying.

then it happens that what you are manifests, your substance, essence, opens and permeates the whole void. it is inexhaustible, although the void has no bottom, your substance fills it. infinite emptiness kills any form, since any form in infinite expansion disappears, but your substantial does not. It does not matter that the expansion is infinite, your substance is inexhaustible, upside down, it becomes total, absolute, and there you find what you are, the infinity that is, that is, you

Reality is both Non Dual and Dualistic. If it weren't so there wouldn't be any differences to explore. You can both raise and lower in Consciousness to explore both the Separation and the Oneness. At certain Consciousness levels that separation is experienced as Absolute. Without a state change that separation is NOT an illusion...its real. Until the illusion is dispelled...its not an illusion.

This is why many people who attempt to teach Spirituality fail so miserably to get their message across. I would never tell someone that the ego is an illusion. I would tell them that the ego is Real....but is temporary and limited so it is not as Real as the Absolute in comparison. This is how you properly awake someone. Going around just telling people that its all an illusion just confuses them.

You are a selfless LACK OF APPEARANCE, that CONSTRUCTS AN APPEARANCE. But that appearance can disappear and reappear and we call that change, we call it time, we call it space, we call it distance, we call distinctness, we call it other. But notice...this appearance, is a SELF. A SELF IS A CONSTRUCTION!!!

So if you want to know the TRUTH OF THE CONSTRUCTION. Just deconstruct the construction!!!! No point in playing these mind games!!! No point in creating needless complexity!!! The truth of what you are is a BLANK!!!! A selfless awareness....then that means there is NO OTHER, and everything you have ever perceived was JUST AN APPEARANCE, A MIRAGE, AN ILLUSION, IMAGINARY.

Everything that appears....appears out of a lack of appearance/void/no-thing, non-sense (can't be sensed because there is nothing to sense). That is what you are, and what arises...is made of that. So nonexistence, arises/creates existence. And thus everything is solved.

There is an end in the path of meditation, when you achieve the total openess. There can't be more, because it's everything. Of course there are infinite things to realize, a lot of depth to explore, but all that is relative. You can totally be open to the absolute and that is, there can't be "more", is absolutely impossible

I don't agree. I am conscious that there are higher levels of god, infinity, and enlightenment forever. You can continuously expand in any direction you want for eternity. Certain realizations can seem to be the end of that particular aspect of consciousness, but you can also explore the various aspects of that realization in multi dimensional ways, always finding a higher level of understanding, consciousness, etc.

It's so absolutely infinite that no matter how high you go, you still haven't even scratched the surface.

Many people might not want to acknowledge this because of the potential fears it may trigger. I have a post that explains how to let go of all fear.

There are infinite relative levels and one absolute level, the total openess to the absolute existence, to the nature of the reality. The nature of the reality is what we really are, and in it everything is implicit as a possibility, it the total potential. It's you, me, or anything else. It's not something abstract of misterious, it's really you, what you are

@Breakingthewall The absolute level is eternal, even if you aren't conscious of it it's still ever present. It's a matter of how conscious you are of any particular aspect of consciousness. I'm suggesting you can become more conscious of any absolute level of consciousness as well as any relative level. Everything already exits now, but you can allow yourself to experience more of what exists with no limit. Enlightenment from my perspective is becoming conscious of and experiencing many of the absolute and relative aspects of consciousness, usually Enlightenment is focusing on the aspects of your true nature, joy, love, bliss, passion, excitement, ecstasy, omniscience, various aspects of non-duality etc. but there is no limit on how high you can go. So it is absolute, unchanging, and eternal, however, you can become more and more conscious of it. And thus, there are higher levels of consciousness forever.

Any aspect of consciousness you can imagine, the absolute or relative, you can progress in that direction forever, including when it comes to Enlightenment, God, Infinity, etc.

For me there is one absolute level, be open to the absolute now. After you can experience deeper, realize the interconnection of everything, see the divine in everything more and more deeper, but the total openess is the total openess, it's total, its the absence of everything, just absolute being, out of any dimension. Then the absolute can be more or less transparent in the experience. Im not saying that I can open myself to the absolute at will, just sometimes, but I'm sure that it's possible do it at will and that many can do, it's not something so mysterious or mystic, or for yoguis or sages, is purify your structure and open it until nothing remains.

@Breakingthewall I think it’s simply a matter of what definition of enlightenment someone has. If someone defines enlightenment as a realization of a certain non-dual aspect of consciousness such as letting go of the illusory separate self, or any various other non-dual realization then that is more or less correct in terms of that being the end of the journey. I define enlightenment in a much different way. I don’t know how else I would describe the expansion of consciousness if not using the term Enlightenment because it’s too accurate of a term

There can be only one enlightenment, the total openess to what you are. You are the existence, the absolute being. This is something absolutely real, it's the same you or me. Any appearance or something else is an structure that closes the realization of what you are, if there are zero structures, the pure being manifest

That's a definition of enlightenment I personally don't agree with but I understand what people mean by it.

Once you get to that enlightenment, what are you going to do next?
