Leo, Didn't you bet on American people's decency?

In one of your blog posts, I recall you predicted that Americans wouldn’t back Trump as strongly as they did in 2016, reasoning that they had a level of decency that would prevent them from electing someone like him again. This speaks volumes about the level of moral and intellectual development of Americans.  People often perceive Americans as selfish nasty and unkind compared to Europeans. Decency was long gone in America.

How can I not be miserable when at least a third of the country, even including people like me, could eventually be persecuted beyond what we can even begin to imagine by the tyranny of Trump, MAGA, and corporate-fascism just because they can?

I am now so paranoid that I really think that I may need to buy a lethal weapon and armor to protect myself.

In the unlikely event it would ever come to this, I think it would be many years down the road. You have time. 

It doesn't make sense to succumb to negativity of the things that are out of our control. It doesn't make sense to keep feeding the negative emotions when there's a lot of work to do. 

My plan is to continue as planned, but with more vigor. With Trump and AGI potentially showing up in a 2-3 years, I've got a lot of fucking work to do. If anything, this should light a fire under your ass.

It is easy to armchair philosophize but when the rubber meets the road and your freedoms are at stake, only action can save you.

 America could EASILY become an autocracy in the next 4 years since there aren't any legal guardrails to prevent it.

His concern is more than valid. 

It is easy to speak against the status quo in a democracy, it isn't so in a dictatorship since they line you up and kill you.

Dont forget many Western countries that are now considered developed have dealt with fascism and dictatorships not even 50 years ago.

It didn't prevent him from attempting to ceise the country for himself. In many ways the system "rewarded" his behavior, as he's not currently spending the rest of his life in jail.

Who knows what he'll do this time around, knowing he can violate everything he's sworn to protect and uphold with no consequences.

Althougt you talk and write to humans, dont you feel sometimes that the more conscious one becomes easy and paradoxly harder is to communicate with humans. For me for example I basically just listen to my relatives for social education. The percentage of wisdom I would get from listening then equal the percentage I get by listening dogs barking.

Well said. I wish people would see politics as the mind virus it is. 

I lived through 4 years of trump, my hair didn't catch fire. I lived through 3.75 years of Biden and turned out fine.

At the end of the day there are checks and balances and many intelligent people in government that will self right the ship.
