what's the point of hating Trump so much?

How did you come to see through it?

I got more and more depressed by listening to it, so I ended up taking a long break from news and media. During that break I noticed how peaceful and free of all that cultural war drama the real world everyday life actually is. I ended up having a moment where I realized how much worse my life had gotten after getting into all the right-wing stuff. Then I got into personal development, discovered Leo, took the life purpose course and had a week long solo retreat. I don't think I've hated anyone since then. I’ve gained a much better critical sense and now I’m aware of how the news and media pretty much only feed you the worst and most dramatic stuff that’s happening in the world, and I’m too concious to let myself be manipulated by rage-baiting anymore, even though right-wingers are incredibly good at it!

Nice to hear. I can see how peeps these days fall into it. Most can't break out because they don't have the self-awareness to see what it does to them and what they're doing with it. You're a lucky one!

If truth is the guide, there's no need for ideology, right or left.

Maturity in discussion means the ability to separate ideas from identity so one can easily recognize new, irrefutable information as valid, and to fully integrate it into one’s perspective—even if it challenges deeply held beliefs. Both recognition and integration are crucial: the former acknowledges truth, while the latter ensures we are guided by it.

Hating on politicians you don't like is age old. Because their politics/messenging undermines your survival interests. Politics is essentially just fighting about who is right. Its why people immersed in politics tend to be bitter and combative. You kind of have to. Just look at Leo going off at Trump on his blog. His rhetoric has only become more vicious with time in regards to Trump (Trump has also become more vicious as a politician arguably).
