The USA has always been a quasi-fascist state.

It started with the wiping out the natives, then enslaving the blacks, then imprisoning the blacks in the 1990s (using fascist style propaganda to justify it), Japanese interments the Iraq war, and now Trump's possible deportations.

"What do fasces represent?

In ancient times, fasces were a Roman symbol of power and authority, a bundle of wooden rods and an axe bound together by leather thongs. Fasces represented that a man held imperium, or executive authority. Exercising imperium, a Roman leader could expect his orders to be obeyed, could dole out punishment, and could even execute those who disobeyed.  The fasces he carried symbolized this power in two ways: the rods suggest punishment by beating, the axe suggests beheading. On its surface, the fasces imply power, strength, authority, and justice.

Fascism can easily take away your most basic rights. It works on emotions of people by implying they are the supreme provider. History has shown that fascism never ended well. One way to understand this is to take a look at Stalin and Hitler.

Define "fascism". You'll be more or less right depending on your definition of the word.

A definition from Wikipedia:

Quote

Fascism (/ˈfæʃɪzəm/ FASH-iz-əm) is a far-right, authoritarian, and ultranationalist political ideology and movement,[1][2][3] characterized by a dictatorial leader, centralized autocracy, militarism, forcible suppression of opposition, belief in a natural social hierarchy, subordination of individual interests for the perceived good of the nation or race, and strong regimentation of society and the economy.[2][3] Opposed to anarchism, democracy, pluralism, egalitarianism, liberalism, socialism, and Marxism,[4][5] fascism is placed on the far right-wing within the traditional left–right spectrum.[6][5][7]

Is genocide or slavery inherently fascist? Those people are not civilians of the state so does the definition of fascism apply? What is "fascist style propaganda"? Is fascism just a call sign for far-right politics?

I could try and guess what you think and react of that but I can't read your mind so I'll inevitably end up talking over you. Hard to take a posts like these serious without making what you mean explicit.

The book and the video goes into all that much better than I could.
