@Emerald I think to get out of wage slavery and to live a life of fulfillment and freedom was what motivated me the most.

Become familiar again with the mysterious and miraculous nature of existence. From that state, motivation is effortless.

It might sound counter-intuitive... but try wallowing in it a little bit. Really FEEL the meaning-lessness. Allow yourself to not have a purpose and to not have motivation.

Let yourself sink down to the bottom.

Start again from the very beginning.

Who am I?

What's going on?

How did I get here?

What do I want?

Why do I feel this way?

What can I do to feel better?

Why am I not meditating?

"If you want to become whole,
let yourself be partial.
If you want to become straight,
let yourself be crooked.
If you want to become full,
let yourself be empty.
If you want to be reborn,
let yourself die.
If you want to be given everything,
give everything up.

The Master, by residing in the Tao,
sets an example for all beings.
Because he doesn't display himself,
people can see his light.
Because he has nothing to prove,
people can trust his words.
Because he doesn't know who he is,
people recognize themselves in him.
Because he has no goal in mind,
everything he does succeeds.

When the ancient Masters said,
"If you want to be given everything, give everything up,"
they weren't using empty phrases.
Only in being lived by the Tao can you be truly yourself."

- Lao Tzu

Thanks Adam very useful advice it's not conter intuitive though you have to die to be reborn...

Thanks man..

Life purpose is a scam advice. Follow your passion is a scam advice. My advice would be to aim for a high paying job and grind your way through life using Getting things done by David Allen

Ya even I'm begining to feel the same, just earn more money seems so practical for me.. cause all the work that I did I feel is useless as I see other who do not work at all getting really successfull in earning money.

They say earning money cannot buy happiness but I feel that's a wrong notion, money brings happiness upto certain points in life..

@Elton You came here to create something with your life.

Yes, going the hero's journey is hard and arduous. And it's most fulfilling when you walk it, stop, look around and take in the beauty and start walking again.

Thanks loving radiance for the kind words

It can be a biochemical issue. When I occasionally struggle with depression / no motivation I have vitamin deficiencies.

Get a blood test if you haven't recently.

No in my opinion it's not that in my case..

Usually this happens to me. I have a long period in which there is no meaning and zero motivation. You can just do nothing and eventually you'll find something that sparks you again

Ya this is called backsliding but sometimes a support system like this helps, sometimes brute force..

What is your life purpose

currently 0 . I am working on improving my programming skill

i hope so

thanks for the encouragment .

Degrees are pretty useless in 2024, don't be stuck in the past. Competence is what matters mostly now as you have straight access to the market. You could be in a rural village in India and as long as you have an internet connection you can be selling stuff to millionnaires in New york city.

Stop making excuses and learn marketable skills.

It's dangerous to think like that.

Most HR will turn you away for not having a degree, unless you do a certification.
A youtuber engineer in London that I like talks here and there about Cisco certification.

Hi Everyone,

 This is my first post on the forum and I would like to share how I lost some of my motivation recently.  I recently obtained a skill and having a rough time getting an entry-level position. I revamped my resume so it tailors towards the position I am currently applying to, however, I am still receiving no responses or communication from employers. I have pushed out 60 applications. I am feeling defeated at the moment which is creating internal suffering.
