The Seeker

38 posts in this topic

The seeker is just a pattern of thoughts. Just a bunch of thoughts. There is no seeker. If you keep seeking using thoughts you will stay in a loop. A feeling about a past or future made up story is what you are experiencing now. All of your anxiety right now could be used for Joy. Don't think, and there will be no one who holds the burden of trying to wake up! Ponder that.

Exactly. That's all.

The very identification with the suffering is what's keeping the suffering energy latched on to what you think is you. If you ignore the thoughts that come with the suffering(not referring to physical pain), they will go away like shooing flies or have no more power to affect you.

If you knew nothing about who you are, you wouldn't have a sense of self, so yes.

You mean if someone for example was born isolated from everything on an island they wouldn’t develop a sense of self or?

Yeah like Jane and Tarzan. Literally, that's how it happens. Through knowledge. Knowledge is literally separation and thought is literally time and space. It's fucking magical. It was meant to be this way for the illusion to stick. Wake up. Right here, right now. Don't need a damn thing only to want to.

i don't know if I agree. I wonder how the sense of self would be for someone isolated on an island, if they would have any. I'm not sure about that. I can say one thing about the sense of space and it's that the sense of self creates it. So you experience I am over here and the world is over there separated. But I agree knowledge is separation, the knowing of I am is knowing of myself as separate. It's like an energetic sense I would say fundamentally.

Which is just thought.

Me thinking of it is thought, but the experience of it is not thought I would say.

It's kind of hard to explain a sense of self away when there really isn't any. You're feeling a sense of self only because of the relationship you have to other. No other - No self. No thought about other, no separation. You see yourself in relation to something else, take that away and there's no sense of self. It's not really there to begin with so don't even try to get rid of it, that's just heightening the stubborn illusory sense of self to stick around because you're believing in something that's not even there.

Go to sleep; no thought, wake up, thought arises. THOUGHT IS WHAT CREATES THE SENSE OF TIME AND SPACE.

It's all mind activity. You're not really thinking or experiencing anything; that's just a part of the illusion.

A person on an island would have objects to relate to as other. So they might have a sense of self as the body

Ok. Thought is time and thought is space whether you agree or not. Why do you think enlightenment is impossible to achieve and you're already that. It's the mind saying it's not. If there was no thought, no one would even be thinking of enlightenment. It's a fucking thought. I'm not enlightened, I don't need to be enlightened for me to be who I already am. It's something the mind made up trying to make sense of itself. All these years on this forum, ever seen someone say they finally got enlightened - only if it's fake news or they believe they are. Osho isn't talking to you. You are talking to you. Same here.
