Eternal as All: To think of the eternal as something that encompasses everything is to view it as the fundamental reality upon which all other forms of existence depend.

 

Eternal as Something: On the other hand, the eternal can also be seen as a specific entity or phenomenon that has always existed, without necessarily encompassing the entirety of reality.

Which of these two concepts is the most logical? And can anyone truly know?

When we say something is eternal we are saying it has no beginning and no end or it has no birth and no death.

So whatever has a beginning and an end is below that.

The eternal one is above everything that can appear and disappear because it doesn't appear or disappear.

So of course it encompasses anything that appears and disappears.

It's the one giving birth to everything.

It's the one before everything.

It's the first cause.

Eternal means that it never began and it never ends. This means that it is not extensive, large, enormous, but rather it has no duration. It lacks dimension. dimension is an appearance that occurs in eternity. Infinity is dimensionless, it is simply now. Everything that appears appears is the eternal now, and the eternal now is what we are, what everything is. Infinity doesn't mean incommensurate because it's enormous extension, means that has not extension. Extension is an appearance, duration the same. Time and space are appearances that happens, same than experience, perception, or self. If you remove all only the eternity remains, and you are that. It's nothing, but it's everything.
