It seems like our collective lack of development has a genetic component, but why?

I remember Leo shared on his blog an autistic teenager who is currently teaching quantum physics in university. This is proof nature is more than capable of creating a human brain and mind that is orders of magnitude better at understanding and learning, even before finishing puberty. We have seen similarly gifted individuals when it comes to spirituality and self actualization, Peter Ralston for example.

But my question is why does nature seemingly limit our spiritual and psychological capacities? Why is Ralston and this teenager the exception and not the rule? And why doesn’t society acknowledge this as even being a problem? America spends more money on alcohol than genetic research every year, this alone highlights our idiocy.

It's surely very interesting why people like Tesla and Turing are practically superhuman compared to others.

Why isn't the average person a genius? If they became that, why not an extraordinary genius? I get that you're pointing to a real life example and we can't point to a real life example of someone being above an extraordinary genius, but obviously it would still be possible for nature to make better things than extraordinary geniuses.

We don't know enough about evolution to give a truly satisfying answer to this question.

My understanding is that we are at a very specific point on an evolutionary timeline. Consciousness is evolving but higher conscious variants are not yet the norm because those variants simply have not proliferated. Something like that. We were born 10,000 years too early.

Intelligence on an individual level is quite overrated in my opinion as technological development and understanding of the world is an iterative process of inter-generational learning, building on what has learnt prior. Human intelligence is the ability to cooperate on a mass level. Most large mammals can't cooperate with a group larger than one they are intimately familiar with, their family. This factor alone puts us leagues above animals.

Notice that the autistic teen in your example didn't invent quantum physics, he merely understands it to a high degree. The fact that he has the opportunity to learn and potentially contribute to quantum physics is the intelligent part of being human.

Humans are already plenty in term of sheer smarts for the purpose of survival.

Because you are taking genetics for granted. Good genetics is not something anyone is entitled to. Any capacities you have had to be evolved over billions of years through a very painful process.

News flash: that process never ended.

It's kinda like you're asking: "Why doesn't nature give a caveman a rocketship?" Because someone has to build it first.

Nature doesn't owe you genetic capacity. Nature is using you to build genetic capacity. You are nature's stepping stone to something better.

The social setting of humans does more to limit our own genius far more than nature. Nature does give immense psychological capacities, but we have no clue to detect them nor nurture them. In fact, we get threatened by these geniuses that we try to clamp down on them.

The bottleneck is human bullshit. The nature has a far bigger capacity for genius. The few geniuses that you see simply happened to be born in the right circumstances + the right genetics. Think about all the people with the right genetics who could not be born in the right circumstances.

They are far more common than you think. But we beat the shit out of their genius by the time they grow up.

That's what Nietzsche meant with the Ubermensch.

When you see separation, you see Ralston and this teenager as exceptions to the rule. It's all one mind doing everything. They are simply a part of what this mind is doing. They appear to have extraordinary capabilities but it's not the persons doing anything it's the Absolute appearing as such. There are no limits to what Universal mind can do. You have taken yourself to be an individual separate from Ralston and you believe he is special and smarter and more of a genius than you are. Nature didn't limit our spiritual capabilities, it's all one. That's the person asking these questions because it sees itself as separate from nature.

Why not just say a rope stretched between animal and God -- over an infinite abyss?

Genes persist based on survival and reproduction value. For most of human history we were hunter gatherers and the genes for that are what persisted. Why would we all evolve to be autistic kids who are math geniuses in an environment where you have to worry about not being eaten by a saber tooth cat.

Spiritual ability is different, there actually isn’t much evidence that is based on genetics. It seems more to be random fluke.

@Raze  No it's genetics. Most people cannot do the things I've been able to do. Their lack of ability leads them to simply shun the things I can do. It's genetics.

You personally doing something someone else can’t do is not proof it is based on genetics.

Everyone can do what i can do. Just certain people will be able to sit down and actually do it. That is genetics. Just like certain people possess what is known as "perfect pitch in music(like myself)". The latter is definitely based on genetics.

If it wasn't you'd be able to have hands-free orgasms or send the sensation to your Skull, or have lucid dreams/soul travel every single morning(like me). That is all genetics.

Because God is everything, including the rope and of course the infinite abyss ;)

Never taught them anything. I keep quiet about anything spiritual and try to appear as a normie. Saves the headaches.

It’s not genetics then, it is choosing to practice and learn it.
