I feel like either that's what's best for you or it won't happen 

I can think of many ways in which that would be so, especially since you're not a physical human stuck in a physical world

When I was a child I went into my parents room and I was snooping in their closet and I found a gun and I pointed at my face and pulled the trigger. A massive explosion happened in my face, I am stunned and there is alot of smoke. I didn't die it was a metal realistic cap gun.

Also the multiverse is imaginary, the actual reason why you're immortal is because consciousness is absolute

It's like having a double personality. For a while the open personality is operational and reality is timeless, absolute and clean. another time the closed personality is operative and reality is struggle and madness, exchanging several times a day. It's not that one is real and the other false, just are two perspectives
