Psychological analysis of Donald Trump by Jordan Peterson

34 posts in this topic

Here is an interesting video

Peterson breaks down Trump and his associate's psychological makeup along the big 5 scale. He highlights Trump having a lot of agreeableness being able to banter and relate with working class people and not being prone to bootlicking his superiors while kicking down the masses like Kamala has a reputation of doing. He at the end gives a glowing endorsement to Trump and the rest of his coalition to take the country towards a more exciting future.

He defends the accusations of calling Trump a dictator by comparing him to the other known ones and how he's able to poke fun at himself and ally himself with people like Elon Musk which would steal his thunder if he really was fully a narcissist.

The more I watch positive analysis of Trump the more I realize how complicated human beings are and how much we'll need AI to get us out of this mess because even for me that has studied self-actualization for 10+ years it's hard to not get gaslit and see the world accurately.

What's your thoughts on this @Leo Gura?

Trump has a cult of personality effect. He appeals to the lowest common denominator and kiddo emotions. People want a big Sugar Daddy figure. Trump appeals to that.

Trump engages in layman talk that uneducated masses love to listen to. With his crude jokes and entertainment.

The only appeal of Trump is "I'll give you this. I'll give you that."

It is attractive to a nation with Skydaddy religion. Because they all want some God of Abraham to land on the world and provide all the children. It's very classic Biblical - God the savior.

People see a Christ version in Trump. A man who has come to save them in misery, a great lord provider.

This will be a very effective strategy with Christianity at it's backing.

Trump would never win without Christianity. Trump almost capitalized a religion as his road to presidency. It's a clever plot, a twisted con. But it works brilliantly in a half stage Blue half stage Orange country of America.

I skimmed around. It's strange, it's on the official JP channel, yet it sounds like pure AI.

Seems likely he'll win based on that assessment. People call for authoritarian leaders to make things simple for them in times of war and uncertainty.

@Keryo Koffa I can't tell if his points are objective or he just makes them work for his biases. His analysis seems to make sense though, he does omit a lot from it but his points are valid.

I’m not going to watch this because I already know it’s going to be terrible.

I'm not completely sure if he will win or not. Anyways it's all a psychological rot.

This feels very unnerving to me.

"He's like that to shield the tenderness of his heart" (not verbatim).

Gosh, we're screwed.

I would politely disagree with you. There are actually many intelligent and intellectual people (to which I am surprised) are supporting Trump this time. I really think Harris messed up somewhere. She did not turn out to be the next Biden, I truly believe back then when Biden was elected, he really played smart and he did not so much politicked the public, not saying that Trump us not polarizing. Also Trump is playing smart by being anti establishment and that is a very huge thing. For issuance with the entire censorship, that truly backfired, and Trump is smart by going against it. I really think the Big Tech really shot itself in a foot by making extreme censorship, I mean they really went too far and that what will play out in the outcome. I actually expect Trump to win. The Big Tech really messed up for democrats big time.

I don't know how anyone can legitimately support Trump but whatever.

The matter fact is that at least half the country supports if not more than half but that we will find out next Tuesday night. If it was a quack here and one there I get it, but we are speaking of a huge population, would say half of US and that is not a small numebr. The problem is maybe there is many who are anti Trump jumping to call the other side quacks and at the same time fueling his support. You can give me hundred of theories but the practice is different and if the practice is different then perhaps the formulated theories are wrong.

Why do ultra progressives loose all the time, then perhaps they do something wrong or should I say a lot of wrong. See Leo’s video of where did the left gone wrong. It’s the brushing off mentality that gives rise. A perfect example, the more Big Tech is going to censor the more it will backfire. The more pharmaceutical companies will corrupt the regulatory agencies the more Kennedies will arise in power. There is no healthy balance and that’s why it swings. So instead of brushing the other side, ask, where did I go wrong?

It's funny how Trump is anti-establishment while being pro-dictatorship. Nazi vibes.

Let's remember that Trump won against Hillary Clinton only by a small margin. And lost the next election to Biden. If half or more of the country supported Trump, that wouldn't have been the case.

Ok fine I give you that but let’s see. Something tells me that this time he will get more than half of population but time will tell. I see more and more of high intellectuals are now align with Trump. I would say even further that they are not really aligning but aligning with his anti establishment ideas. You have people like Joe Rogan, Jordan Peterson and name the few.

Also I don’t like to use the word Nazi vibes, he does not have those. I am Jewish and we unfortunately know what Nazism is, indeed they were unique and truth being is that very few in the world are like that. Honestly the only organization that I can equate to Nazis are KKK. I personally get upset when people throw that word being on liberals or conservatives because they don’t know what Nazis really are and it shows lack of intellectual understanding but throwing terms.

Trump is empathetic? xDxD

This whole piece from Peterson is basically propaganda. Trumps nephew would definitely disagree -

Peterson is making the claim that hes a particularly empathetic person, this is not true going by his history. Someone whos empathetic would not treat their nephews child in such a manner or for example take out an ad calling for the death penalty for young boys who turned out to be innocent and not apologising when he found out he was wrong.

Is he capable empathy? Yeah probably but to say hes an empathetic person, im sorry no

It’s depends on what your persona estimates being empathy.

Some person a bit wacky would say it’s empathetic to hurt your children « for their good ».

I would never raise my hand on my family but still, i never had too leftist friends because theses peoples purely and simply doesn’t have the same way of expressive love.
