LEO GURA : Awakening and suffering

134 posts in this topic

@Leo Gura , PLEASE REPLY !!!

You’ve often said that life is love, we are all connected, and that awakening reveals the truth of being God. Yet, in one of your videos, you openly shared your struggles with health issues and the suffering that came with it. This makes me wonder: What’s the point of awakening if it doesn’t free us from suffering? It seems like, in a practical sense, material resources and advancements play a more direct role in addressing suffering, especially in areas like health. How do you reconcile these two realities—spiritual awakening on one hand and the unavoidable challenges of physical life on the other?

HOPE YOU GET WELL SOON

Life is grounded in material conditons. Which is why all animals behave like animals, and so do most people.

You can't ignore the material conditions of life.

Well than what's the point of all this Enlightenment thing man .

Actually I'm going through worst phase of my life yet .

And I didn't knew how to make sense of it and I thought this Awakening (God) stuff would help me solve my materialistic problems .

Knowing that it won't isn't what I wanted to hear man.

@Kairos The point of Awakening is to understand what reality is.

I'm made it quite clear that Awakening doesn't solve material conditions.

Suffering is part of life. Rather than trying to escape it, embrace it. Life is meant to be challenging. That's what grows you.

You are God. You are Truth. You are Love. You are Infinity.

@Kairos spirituality has its benefits if you care about wisdom and truth. but it is not a cure all solution for everything. which is why leo stresses the importance of mastering survival: life purpose and career, dating and sexuality, having a good diet and exercising...check out the life purpose course, the how to shop for healthy food video, and the how to get laid series...

also enlightenment doesn't replace education, if you care about understanding specific things like history, or geopolitics or medicine. you have to study them on their own.

enlightenment is beneficial in that it removes the barriers of your mind and makes it flourish beyond any egoic identification.

but there's definitely more to life than just enlightenment.

It forced me to cut through many fantasies and illusions.

This work doesn't really become real until you are forced to confront great pain, unfairness, and cruelty.

The brutality of life is what grounds the work and keeps it from becoming that sugary New Age spiritual fantasy.

Great pain is necessary to shatter your illusions about reality.

@Leo Gura i know a friend of mine who is deeply grounded in material conditions. He has a high career, hard working condition and is married and got a child recently. He is atheist, stage orange, never interested in spiritual stuff. He says he is very satisfied with his life.

I ask me hypothetically if I introduce su hab person like him to spiritually /awakening, how would it benefit him overall? How could he be motivated to have an awakening experience if his material life seems perfect to him? Does it even make sense for such a person to follow the path of awakening if he is so deeply involved with work/family (probably for next 20 years)?

Chasing after spiritual enlightenment and chasing after sex and money… In the end, what’s the difference?!

@Yimpa Exactly how I thought bro

But I think if Money and sex gives you the ultimate and lasting pleasure you should go for it.

But from what I know about dopamine system in brain after some time it loses its essence when you get used to it .

While always working on your purpose or ( in Leo's case which is to have LOVE FOR LIFE ALWAYS) gives a lasting satisfaction better than quick dopamine hits .

What do u think ?

There you go.

One builds on top of the other.

You wanna build a house from the roof?

I also like ShivaPuri Baba's understanding on this

Quote

What is the gift of Right Life ? ”It is very simple , to carry Body, Intelligence, Mind and Psyche to perfection”.

ShivaPuri Baba said that every living being must reach this Goal to become 100% free. How to achieve this? By practicing the three disciplines, Physical, Mental and Spiritual.

Physical discipline: It takes the seekers Body and Intellect to perfection by making his body healthy. At the same time restricting himself to his chosen DUTY (job) and never straying into useless and harmfull activities, make his life successful and wealthy. He becomes happy and lives his life as a King, but he cannot achieve the Highest , God.

Mental discipline: This discipline tames his mind as a result of which it comes to possess The COMMANDING (directing towards the best) and CONTROLLING (steering, working) POWERS over his senses and their objects. He becomes free from his Likings and Dislikings (unbiased, disciplined) ; He does not stray into speculation and unlawful desires and actions, in this way he becomes happy and accomplished yogi with full of occult powers. But still he is short of GOD. With his death all his accomplishments disappear.

Spiritual discipline: The last discipline enables him to acquire divine qualities, bereft of his identification with his body, intellect and mind.-his false « I »- the cage in which he was imprisoned till then. After this he comes to know his real « I ». Infinity. GOD, Reality, bestows ITSELF GRACE wich makes him fit enough to fly to ITS OWN KINGDOM, its birthplace, its birthright, its GOAL, One becomes The GREATEST.

Truly One becomes OMNIPRESENT, ONNISCIENT, OMNIPOTENT, ETERNALLY BLISFULL AND IMMORTAL.

Shivapuri Baba implores every human to achieve this; reccomanding the practice of the three Disciplines, simultanousely, not dissociated. In the begining, the first two will be predominant. At the end, the third becomes Predominant.

@Leo Gura What about acceptance of suffering ? While suffering cannot be eliminated from life , it can be reduced by going through it . Whenever I feel bad , I accept it which paradoxically makes me smile. Is it the counterintutive nature of suffering ?
