How do you guys go about processing a friend's suicide?

I haven’t had a close friend commit suicide.

I’d probably just binge watch non duality talks if it happened.

"nobody has ever lived, nobody has ever died"

Maybe your mind is trying to understand and make sense of the suicide, which is seemingly impossible.

Sorry for your loss.

I actually did get into nonduality around the time that my friend in school died from a drug overdose. She did it with a group of people at a house and they left her dead on the couch all alone.

I say to feel everything authentically which might sound like a punch to the gut

but grief is often times ls just love knocking the door as a memory.

don’t hesitate to reach out you are loved

wishing your friend peace

This is her Obituary. It's strange to see people talk about her on instagram and wondering if she committed suicide or not, and whether or not she would go to heaven. It's unfortunate that she was born in such a country, she had a truly beautiful mind, a very rare kind of mind. Which is especially surprising given where she was born and raised.

Her family does not know about the reasons and I feel like it is not my place to tell them.

Yes, I have been thinking about this, wondering if death is real or not.

Sorry for your loss.

But you didn't actually lose her though in truth.

Talk to her in your alone time.

She hears you and you can ask her why and the answer will be given to you.

And you'd understand the why and you just have to be sure in your own heart that she's in a good place now not suffering anymore.

My emotions calmed down but I feel very unmotivated for life now. I feel like my goals in life are meaningless, and that there are no meaningful goals in life.

Let yourself go through a process of grief and reflection.

You'll come out of it and figure out what to do.

Don't worry about it.

All is well.

@Scholar Sorry for your loss.

What comes to mind for me is to keep the stages of grief in your awareness.

Try and talk to a trusted friend, or a grief counsellor.

Vipassana meditation can help you be with the emotions that come up.

Massage and Trauma release exercises can help you release stress that inevitably rises during such a time.

That said, I haven't looked into grief processing that much. Hopefully my recommendations are helpful though.

I've not experienced the suicide of a friend, but once with a classmate. Be gentle with yourself, take time and space to just be with your feelings if needed. Talk to supportive family members or friends if you can.

My friend Gaige overdosed on fentanyl. He tried calling me 4 hours before.

I have his ashes next to my bedside. He said he loved me and I a was true friend.

At his celebration of life gathering his girlfriend told me how he would talk about me and only say nice things.

You don't process it, it processes you.

Very understandable.

Life is experienced through connections and relations. I wish you sympathy and healing when experiencing them.
