I think I’ve Found A Better Metaphor Than Leo’s Crocodile

23 posts in this topic

I think I’ve found a better metaphor than Leo’s Crocodile. As I was walking through nature, I ran into a spider web, and it got me thinking that Spiders spent many minutes and hours during their day to build traps. The wind may blow them down or humans may destroy the traps, but that is how spiders survive. Many species build traps to catch their prey, but the spider is so deceiving. Even female spiders will trick and eat the male spiders to survive and take all the male’s resources and that’s why that call it Black Widow.

I think I’ve stumbled upon a better metaphor than the crocodile. But I can see the objections that a crocodile is more emotionally charged since a crocodile is more threatening to humans than spiders. I will give you that, but you don’t appreciate that a spider spends its day constructing a web to catch prey. Whereas crocodiles hide in the water. I think the most intelligent trap goes to the spider hands down.

“Our most valuable resource is not time, but rather it is consciousness itself. Consciousness is the basis for everything, and without it, there could be no time and no resource possible. It is only through consciousness and its cultivation that one’s passions, one’s focus, one’s curiosity, one’s time, and one’s capacity to love can be actualized and lived to the fullest.” - r0ckyreed

The natives say the moon is a spider mother our souls of light get caught in its web.

Was gonna post about it on my blog.

I was researching God's of Knowledge aroun the world and Claude pulled this one out

West Africa: Anansi

Anansi-34.png

While primarily known as a trickster god, Anansi (from the Akan people of Ghana) is also associated with wisdom and is said to be the keeper of all stories and knowledge

The other day I found a hummingbird dead, trapped in a spider web... the web is incredibly strong and sticky.
I couldn't take a photo at the moment, but it was this type of spider who made the trap:

@Davino there is a similar story in Canadian native stories

In Lakota mythology, Iktómi is a spider-trickster spirit, and a culture hero for the Lakota people. Alternate names for Iktómi include Ikto, Ictinike, Inktomi, Unktome, and Unktomi. These names are due to the differences in languages between different indigenous nations, as this spider deity was known throughout many of North America's tribes.

His appearance is that of a spider, but he can take any shape, including that of a human. When he is a human he is said to wear red, yellow and white paint, with black rings around his eyes.

Weird how they have the same stories. Must be true

Nature is very revealing. Nature is full of traps! You still have time to post on your blog about it. I won’t complain. A spider is a trap machine. That would be scary if the one from Lord of the Rings existed. But even scarier is The ultimate spider which is my mind and how tangled it is in webs of deceptions.

How do you protect yourself in the forest (from bears, etc.)? You said in a video ("Why is there something rather than nothing") that you had realisation of mu while you were meditating in a forest. Which forest it was?

I had this question long ago.

Let's just settle for "human" as the ultimate ruthless survival metaphor. Ambush predators at least don't BS each other or themselves about what they're doing.

Humans engage in self deception , denial , lying , cheating, stealing , etc

Crocodiles and spiders don't do ethnic cleansing, use nukes, create pyramid schemes, use emotional manipulation, create cults,  do decades of war, slavery, rape...

A crocodile snatching baby zebras is peanuts compared with humans billion animals systematized slaughter houses. Spider webs are a laughable trap compared with love Tate's lover-boy webcam scheme for example

I think Leo's new corruption vid will give us our deserved badge for ruthlessness

You need to develop the eye of the tiger.

Our ruthlessness is the life's ruthlessness optimized for maximum efficiency by the fact that the human mind has freed itself from the chains of the gene. You don't need millions of years to come up with a spider web, you can do it in minutes. Then at the end you do nuclear weapons. If spiders and crocodiles could, they would do them too

Animals are as ruthless as humans, if not more...

They just don't have the means to exert that ruthlessness as humans have
