IQ is misleading sometimes.

Some insights : 

1. Wisdom and intelligence are very different things. 
2. Having high wisdom doesn't mean high intelligence and vice versa. 
3. There are many types of intelligence. Many of which aren't even recognised. 
4. Intelligence comes from experience. If you have enough experience/practice, you will be intelligent in that field. So don't feel bad about having a low IQ. 
5. For example: you are an actor having an experience of 20 years, you will have intelligence in film industry, and maybe you can perform bad in IQ tests. That doesn't make you dumb. 
6. Practice logical reasoning and related stuff too much, then your IQ test scores will rise up. 
7. Same thing happens if you are a businessman or a scientist or a doctor. For 10-20 years. 
8. You can be a superbly intelligent scientist/entrepreneur and still be idiot in terms of wisdom. 
9. Those who have low wisdom give too much importance to IQ tests.

I had 140 IQ while in school and the latest one on this forum (idk if that test can be counted on or not , it's seems too simple.) I got 116 for the first time and 127 for the second.

IQ test is a business. I won't take any IQ test in my life ever. Or even if I'll take such tests, that would be just for entertainment or logical abilities test.

Calculus comes from basic intelligence which all humans have. That's where IQ matters. I am not denying IQ completely.

IQ is misleading when you don't know what it measures. EQ is more important for everyday life. I know lawyers, doctors and highly educated people who don't have a clue about life, they only know their field. Studying can have that effect. That's why studying a thing can backfire. Observing something can be more efficient.

That's why I'm so smart, I never study, I observe and take mental notes. 😜😜😜Yeah right, smart people don't know they're smart; dumb people don't know they're dumb. Intellectuals and intelligent people know they're intellectual and intelligent. Now, that's coming from EQ.

SQ is spiritual intelligence, of which I have no clue.

EQ is misleading when you don't know what it measures. AQ is more important for everyday life. I know psychologists, caregivers, and highly engaged social workers who don't have a clue about life, they only know their field. Socializing can have that effect. That's why studying a thing can backfire. Exploring something can be more efficient.

Interesting bit of information.

Highest IQ are in the top 10% but the top 1% actually has lower IQ and much higher EQ.

Keep in mind these are all academic concepts and can easily fall into a "comparison trap."

This post will not make a person with low IQ feel good about it. Given the chance, they'll always want a higher IQ.

Putting this here for those who need it.

 

The ultimate solution is to let go and accept it. Let go of your attachment to being better than others and accept all the negative consequences of a lower IQ.

You(generalized) fear a low IQ and now that you know about it, you try to cope with that fact by reading how bad the measurement is and then look to other Quotients to feel good about yourself.

This is not the way.

The only way to deal with your fear is to not fight what you fear. It's counter intuitive. The only way to not fear bears is to have no problem with being mauled.

The only way to not fear being stupid, is to have no problem with being stupid.

 

The ultimate battle is here not that you have a low IQ, the ultimate battle here is that you fear you have no redeeming qualities, nothing that compensates for what you lack. You fear that you may lack in all fields and excel in none. That's your battle.

Yes, I would. But I won't connect IQ with my self esteem or total intelligence (combining all forms of intelligence.)

If my IQ is low, it doesn't mean I m dumb.

I would definitely connect it with your total intelligence. It's true that IQ isn't equal to your total intelligence, but it's also true that they are connected (as many things are).

For example, you contrasted IQ with wisdom. If there is a quantitative aspect to wisdom, e.g. how much experience you have, IQ increases your processing speed and therefore how much experience you can gain in a given time period. So IQ is connected to wisdom, but of course they're not equal.

IQ is a bit like money. It's not everything, but you would be a fool to not want at least a little bit (unless somebody else is paying for you).

IQ is not misleading. 

IQ is idolized. Put on a pedestal. We equate "IQ" with "Success" 

It's not. It's just the ability to do puzzles. Speaks nothing of emotional regulation or connection, ambition, or personality. 

It's not IQ that's misleading, it's the stories we tell ourselves about it that is.
