Being Corrupted is Inevitable

14 posts in this topic

I've noticed this trend.

When people are victimized they are more empathetic towards others who suffer. Those who "lose" in life seek out compassion from other people.

When those same people start to become successful they stop giving a shit about other victims.

The funny thing is, is the way I know this. I'm the same person who's lived this out.

I used to have every problem in the book, I mean serious dysfunctional problems. I used to make it my life's mission to help other people who went through the same problems as me.

Then, after many years of effort, I don't struggle with those problems anymore and I have become decently successful.

I've found myself justifying currupt selfish behavior out of nowhere. Years of moral conditioning gone. Things I never thought I would do, I have had moments of contemplation where I justified them.

So maybe empathy really just is a corrupt survival mechanism. Useful when you are a victim, and can be discarded when it is no longer convenient.

The difference is, I'm somehow self-aware of my corruptness.

Even though I'm highly consciously developed, I get lost in the relativity of it all.

"Calling selfishness evil, is relative. Maybe it's good. How can you deny this truth?" - My ego taunts me.

How can you claim to be fighting selfishness when you really aren't aware of how selfish you can be?

I used to think I was unccorruptable.

Now I realize I'm being corrupted... and maybe I like it.

Maybe I'll lean into this newly-discovered aspect of my ego to see what's down there.

And then I'll climb back out to let you know what you're really fighting.

Maybe you can't fight it. Maybe your corruptness is inevitable...

Bro don't you understand this simple truth that there exists no selflessness/altruism in this world. Everything a person does is because of selfishness. Even when we show empathy, we are being selfish. Becz there is a certain type of pleasure in showing empathy/compassion. We seek pleasure. Everyone does.

What if your altruism starts giving you ACTUAL pain instead of pleasure, would you still do it? NO.

〰️〰️〰️

There's a subtle pleasure in everything we do, even if we can't see it. There is some sort of pleasure in anger too. In grieving too.

We love others not because "we love them" but because "we love ourselves". Even we are selfish in love too. (Talking about romantic love, not metaphysical Love).

〰️〰️〰️

Don't fight your reality. Reality is that you are selfish. You can't be selfless.

But when someone says you have to be selfless, it means you have to treat others as you want to be treated.

Only He who does not have a self can be selfless. For that is His nature.

As long as you have a self, you will be selfish.

In a world of suffering when you are empathetic you cant be happy. If you win you look at the loser and feel bad.

We can't just assume that what happens to us is the case for everyone. Yes, we're all selfish but there are degrees to selfishness and people in different states will project that differently. So, what you're saying is all the people who are successful and who are genuinely doing good in the world and giving back are all corrupted.

Wealth and success only magnifies who you already were internally. People project their own behaviors unto others thinking people are just like them. That's just narcissism.

@Shodburrito I think the System is completely Corrupted, by the System I mean most everything that allows Societies to function, Government, Medical, Education, Finance, everything is basically set up and is corrupted.  The Most Beautiful thing that can happen, if it is organized and promoted, it will be Corrupted eventually, this is because our system is Corrupt.

We have more than enough food to feed everyone on the planet, but ppl still starve.  We have more than enough Resources to house everyone, but tons of ppl are homeless. We have more than enough data and technology to allow everyone to live life at Peace and not worry about basic survival needs, but too many are stressed out daily by not having the basics..  We don't supply these things because the power brokers are Corrupted, and we allow it..

This doesn't mean I have to be Corrupted, when I know that everything about Me is up to me to determine, then It gives my power back to control my Destiny, that is my Inner Destiny and Potential. I am Responsible for Everything that is happening in my life, if You deny this then Your a Slave to most everything, being a Slave is anti Human...

This wouldn't happen to Stage Yellow and above.

Problem lies in the fact that you hold others in the same light as you do yourself.

Of course you're empathetic when you literally live their reality.

Once you rise above that life and live a better one, you start holding others in the same regard. You start believing that if you could do it they could do. If they can't they just got unlucky, not your problem. Or maybe they deserve it? You're too lazy to even think about their life and problems because it doesn't concern you anymore.

All of that stems from you not intuiting that people are at different levels of development.

You might know it, but haven't internalized it yet.

TLDR; Nothing corrupted you, your ego is just underdeveloped.

@caspex That is very smart

Everyone below you is corrupt

Everyone above is holy

Then you move up or down a rung on the ladder.

Fear is the problem.

Still, having experienced poverty or hunger before would make you empathize with people more than when compared to someone who live with a silver spoon.

@caspex Most people cannot be helped in any serious manner. If I could hand them a book that would lay out how to solve every one of their problems guaranteed, people would still be too lazy to read it. You're stupid to think everyone can get to higher levels of consciousness. The truth is that most people are either incapable of understanding higher level thinking or are too incapable of applying those teachings.

Other people are not my problem. The fact of reality is, is that 95%+ of people's problems are caused by their own damn fault. Most of the population can't even put in the bare fucking minimum in life. I'm not even asking for them to develop to stage yellow+. I'm asking for them to try and implement the most basic self development shit and they just can't do it. Like eating healthy. MF'ers out here can't even eat a decently clean diet and you want to talk about how other people are capable of getting to stage yellow? According to you when others fail they're just "unlucky"? Are you serious right now? So if I don't train a day in my life for a marathon and then I fail when attempting it it's just bad luck?

I'm tired of hearing this bs that other people being low developed is somehow my fault or my responsibility to fix. Until 95%+ of the population actually starts taking blame for all the bad shit in their lives then I absolutely will not go out of my way to help other people. It's simply a waste of time.

I'm also tired of seeing pretentious people like you on this forum trying to say "your ego is just underdeveloped" to anyone they disagree with. The only reason you put shit like that is to make yourself feel high and mighty and morally grandstand. Talk about projection.

I don't proclaim people's innocence. What you say is correct about others. How you react to that though, is what leads to no empathy.

I am saying that there is no corruption at play here, it's just how you've been.

The key markers for a highly developed ego usually contains a high degree of acceptance and forgiveness. Taking responsibility isn't about helping others but tuning your own reaction towards them. What it means to have empathy is not 'wanting to help others' but rather just deeply understanding their situation.

Once you understand a situation deeply, it's hard to blame anyone, even yourself. It's just how things are and you must move forward. You might find this approach to pathetic or passive, but we aren't worried about practicality here more than what's true.

Such others do not possess this understanding. Others are simply not that developed. So they complain and moan about their problems but are too ignorant to do anything about it.

But if you hate that and can't accept those people, if you can't emphathise with that ignorance, that's Tier 1. It's not corruption.

Since you experienced that ignorance you empathised. Now that you don't anymore, you don't.

As I said, empathising doesn't automatically mean wanting to help. It's not your responsibility to help anyone. Through empathy you help yourself.

I consider myself still integrating Stage Blue and Orange. I don't view myself as high and mighty, nor do I claim everyone can become Stage Yellow.

My reply is for you.

I don't mean to simplify life to developmental models but in my view using the developmental model here is appropriate to clarify a phenomena, that's my understanding.
