Man.. College Acceptance

Here in, 6th, 9th, and 12th grade

We go through exams that are organized by the ministry.

All students go to other schools with other teachers than the ones they know, the questions are organized and done by the ministry of education, and all students all over Iraq get the questions at the same time, internet shuts off at the whole country for like 2 hours so that no one cheats in some way.

And yeah, the curriculum is chosen by the ministry here, it does not differ from school to school (unlike uni).

In other grades, same curriculum too just the teacher organizes the questions, and its just normal exams, but in 6th, 9th, and 12th grade, shit is different, and 12th is most important as the average you get determines your major.

 College is free here though.

I also just discovered a way I can get into all engineering majors I want with some extra cash thats very little, since colleges are free here and my degree would be considered less than a person going without paying anything since I went with a lower average.
The main different is that my college studying would be in the afternoon not morning lol.

In that case, I can go for cybersecurity or AI and robotics engineering, though my degree would be considered less, I won't stay in Iraq for long anyways, and it won't matter as much if I develop skills and stuff.

Now I have to decide between those lol.

wait, isn't computer engineering better since more broad and i can specialize later?

Also is something like computer engineering at the risk of being taken over by AI

I know I am very fascinated by how AI works

I know my life purpose is to basically use my love of learning and understanding to create a stage yellow society, which I know seems basic or a copy of Leo or Ken Wilber, but it actually is my thing after lots of introspection.

Maybe I can fuse AI into the mix because I am very fascinated by it, especially LLMs (large language models).

Yeah so, computer engineering, then masters or continue independent study in AI.

EXCITING.

Same system is in Syria where I grew up. I was lucky in a sense that I left the county after completing 11th grade. There are trade offs to living in first world countries for sure. Syria had its pros and cons just like the US where I live now has its pros and cons too.

No one in the business world cares about your diploma. You can tell them whatever major you want.

@Leo Gura Would love to hear your opinion on this, I notice that many youngsters here on this channel (which form the majority of followers in my opinion)  are likely way far off from having the skills/stamina/maturity, etc to start their own businesses, and have the financial and creative independence that you have.

In that case, the options left on the table, are for them to work a lame 9-5 job, earning minimum wage, or go to college, and learn some technical skills, or earn a bachelor's degree in something that can earn them an average or above average yearly salary, depending on how ambitious they are in developing their skills in that field. Or, if they really are ambitious, they can go college and study medicine/law and earn an above average 6-figure salary the path that I chose to took when I was 18 y/o.

Let go of judgment towards what stage society is, Focus instead on the skills and the projects you could create in your field in your case it is AI and engineering so that's something that's going to skyrocket, spiral dynamics is not a solid foundation to build your life's work upon, so the focus is on the projects not the people not society and see where this work will take you.

I meant that no one cares about your diploma in a 9-5 job. They never even check it.

@Moutushi the problem with society is that it is geared towards healthy people. But when you have serious illnesses and handicaps like i do, i have ocd and bipolar, been treating them for a year but i still need some time to fully be functional, when you have those illnesses and handicaps like mine, you basically cannot work, you cannot even go to college and study for a degree.

No, even the serious ones.

Of course if you don't have the skill expected of you that's a serious problem.

@Leo Gura wait how do you become a doctor or a lawyer without a diploma?

and btw developing a skillset on your own is pretty challenging, you can make it easier by having teacher at a university or an institute.

True, the thing is Leo, I understand to some degree your predicament (from your advanced and unique position) on how to best speak and give advice to the masses of young followers here on this forum, who are struggling to meet basic needs like getting their own place to live in, let alone start their own full-fledged business and be financially independent through it.

That is different.

Those are very specific jobs that require certification. But a programming job does not.

Do you think lying in a job interview is justified?

I think yes, because I have been fooled so many times and I think that we workers are at such a disadvantage that I think it's fair.

I have a master in physics but I currently stay in a tent. don’t worry about your degree so much just work to improve your spiritual aspect. Most middle class and rich people are miserable and a lot of them are suicidal is that what you really want.

Anyone who says they’re enlightened on this form in anyway is not, except me I am.

I wouldn't recommend working first on the spiritual aspect. Finance and career should be the foundations.

Guys, is electrical engineering good?
In regards to my machine learning interests, I think it is unrelated but it can develop good skills that are helpful.

I may not be able to get into computer engineering, which was my goal.
