Coffee: I want the benefits but not the addiction

I drink 2-3 10 oz cups of coffee each day and I'm fine.

That's how I drink it. Plain with nothing in it. Black.

I suspect Americano? Expresso is quite intense.

@UnbornTao I drink drip coffee black, different from real esspresso. I just don't order esspresso since they're served in real small portions, at least in the US.

I'm in America but the coffee can be imported from anywhere. I buy at the convenient store or supermarket. Different kinds. Columbian, too. I don't drink much; maybe once or twice a month. I never drink expresso. Too strong for me and i do like strong coffee; not that strong, and i feel like I got cheated for that small amount of coffee.

An Americano is a brewing method that consists of an espresso shot diluted with water.

You could say that, in certain parts of Europe (Italy, Spain), one might feel cheated if served a watered-down espresso. :D

Just looked it up and Americano is espresso diluted with water.

Or, in certain parts of Europe such as Italy and Spain, you feel cheated ordering American coffee for being served a watered down espresso. Reframing. :D

That's because Italians like big portions hehe

Same for me. I love coffee with milk and some sweetener if the type of coffee I get is too strong

You are used to the bitter taste?

I need something else to counter the bitter taste. Other than that coffee is the best in the world.

Have yet to try American coffee in its proper form--with natural roast coffee instead of torrefacto (dark roasted, I think). And yes, espresso is meant to be served in small portions as it has a higher caffeine content.

I guess I acquired the taste. Cream and sugar in it tastes yucky to me. Almond milk or coconut oil maybe sometimes if I'm home and buy those freeze-dried ones from Columbia. It's been awhile I've taken my coffee black with nothing in it, so it's normal for me. I love the smell and the taste.

Does anyone use black Coffee without sugar? are you okay with the bitter taste?

Good coffee isn’t that bitter. Only over roasted, badly brewed coffee is.
