And who decides what constitutes disinformation and lies? Past experience shows that supressing alternative views on for example covid vaccines, positive discrimination or gender ideology, didn't work out so well. And this is the backlash.

Excuse me? The facts of the matter dictates if something is disinformation or not. Do you not believe there is such a thing as a factual statement?

Suppressing alternative views (misinformation) on covid vaccines was necessary to limit the spread of the virus. These kinds of people were indirectly killing their fellow citizens by refusing to follow the advice of healthcare experts, and even worse, spreading the misinformation to others.

Ultraviolet is the end. 2024-11-16. Today, integrating the selfless love I felt for another within myself propelled me to clear light. Non-duality as a baseline. All barriers broken. Pure bliss, endless physical and mental energy and clarity at every waking moment. Building for the last 7 days, before finally manifesting in its pure form.

It is a deeply unsettling realization that there might never again be anything I can ground myself to. Complete disconnect between past and present self.

Move to California then, and live in your idyllic fully informed democracy, and leave the rest of us to question some things...

My brain still can't comprehend how this guy has any support, let alone the idea that he might actually become the next US president. A stage Beige president in the most powerful country on Earth is a terrifying thought.

Trump has support because he knows how to hit the pain points of a certain demographic, exaggerate their potential issues and then offer a solution, while giving them a common enemy to blame for these issues. He is also willing to do anything to get and stay in power, more so than most if not all politicians, mainly because hes at stage red and had a very specific upbringing that trained and encouraged him to be ruthless to get his fathers love. Hes at stage red whereas most politicians go from stage blue through to green maybe yellow, this means he can take things further than anyone else.

The demographic he caters to get more from having these pain points touched than they would from the actual truth, therefore he gets his support. Its also a good metric of where the US is and how easy it is to be manipulated. Interesting fact, US citizens are the most likely to be catfish scammed, so they are the most vulnerable to a love scam.

Probably 10-20% of voters don't necessarily like Trump, they just dislike Kamala more.

And her policies, like this one from last week - give black men marijuana.

Of course this is illegal discrimination, so was walked back a few days later.

For being so anti racist, they sure do bring race into their policies any chance they get.

I don't think that's really true, there might be some people that don't like Kamalas policies but I would put that at a minimal percentage. Not because her policies are necessarily amazing but because those that were going to vote rep or dem were going to do it regardless of policy. The dems had a workable border policy but trump wanted it shut down until he could get into office and get credit for it, this probably didn't even sway that many away from voting for Trump. So policy is not at the forefront of most people's minds when voting.

There's probably more people voting because they dislike Trump, like the whole republicans against Trump movement, with multiple orgs on the right putting money behind ads to vote against Trump. This is something we rarely see in politics

I think this recent debate between Destiny and Batya Ungar-Sargon does a much better job of elucidating the reasons for Trump's popular support beyond the answer that his supporters are simply brainwashed fools who are being manipulated. Many of you may hate me for saying it, but I find myself agreeing with Batya on at least a few key points.
