My entire family is voting for Kamala Harris, for women's reproductive rights.

My entire family is going to vote for Kamala Harris. They're all voting for the first time. What prompted my family to vote for Kamala Harris is that a tragic situation happened in my sister's school. A girl who was 15 got pregnant and now since the abortion ban, her family is struggling to get her an abortion. They are a minority black  family and they don't have enough funding to travel to another state to get the abortion. So the family is in trouble because of stupid Trump policies. Some women have died because of not being able to get a proper abortion, they were given abortion pills leading to dangerous medical consequences, one woman died as a result of extensive bleeding. So it's hard to find an abortion clinic because of the obnoxiousness of Trump.

That's why my family decided to vote for Kamala Harris. Anyone voting for Harris, thank you, thank you, thank you.

If you or your family is voting for Kamala Harris, then let me know your reasons in the comments below.

Americans please step out and vote this season as it's a crucial election that will determine the fate of democracy.

Once again a hearty thank you for anyone voting for Kamala Harris. This is your chance to vote for the reproductive rights of women.

Thank you.

Americans please vote. This is your time.

@Buck Edwards I honestly don't know much about our country politics, nor Kamala, but I have dug into these abortion laws and Trump's policies and honestly its really a wtf scenario.

Definitely voting for Kamala just because I dont want that mad man ruining the country and people's lives.

Wish more people I know would vote for Kamala, unfortunately about 30% of my friends are trump supporters because of financial benefits. That's the world we're in right now.

I really wish for Kamala to win, but I still don't like when people vote for a candidate because they have a policy that will personally benefit them. This attitude is what sometimes causes politicians to make bullshit promises they know they won't keep. When voting for a candidate, one should consider the whole package.

Unfortunately I can't technically vote since I am not living here but if I could I would definitely vote Kamala.

Hmmm... Probably voting for Stein or PSL. Still considering.

I don’t live in a swing state, but in solidly blue Maryland, so I’m not effecting the results that much.

Even if Kamala wins she can’t change the abortion laws as the Supreme Court already ruled states can decide, and she can’t replace the Supreme Court unless justices retire or die.

This is incorrect, if the Democratic Party achieves a majority in the legislator, they could always pass a law declaring Abortions to be a right at the Federal level.

But for that to happen, they need a majority in both the House of Representatives and Senate, as well as the presidency, which is unlikely according to recent polling.

First off, thank you! Here in Michigan, the only reason that we don't have a total abortion ban from the 1800s in place is because Democrats were able to get an amendment codifying abortion rights onto the ballot, and then into our state Constitution in 2022.

I happen to live in a critical bell weather county in the must-win suburbs of Detroit.

I'm not only voting for her, on the weekends I've been part of a door knocking campaign with the Michigan Democratic Party as well.

If you're worried about the outcome election, I'd highly recommend giving canvassing or phone banking a try.

At the very least, make sure that people close to you (friends, family members) who haven't decided to sell out their country for a red hat have a plan to VOTE. If you're part of social activity like a church or even a gaming group, taking your friend without a car or your grandparents to the polls can make a huge difference if enough people do it.

Also, some helpful flyers that I've been handing out as part of my door knocking . Folks who don't pay attention to politics aren't fully aware of Trump's fascist plans for a second term.

I voted for Stein in 2016 and regret it to this day.

The Green Party under Jill Stein is a grift that exists to siphon votes away from the Democratic Party. This is evident from the fact that they do zero campaigning between presidential election years, and aren't trying to build up a base of support and electoral presence through local elections where they might have a chance of winning.

Mind you this is DESPITE the fact that I'm very much to the Left of the Democratic Party. But I'd much rather be advocating for progressive social democracy under Liberalism rather than fascism.

No point in voting third party until Ranked Choice Voting becomes the norm throughout the country.

Well, there's close to a %100 chance that Harris wins the popular vote (Hilary was an awful candidate and even she managed to win the popular vote against Trump), but because of the antiquated Electoral College, democrats have to outperform to win presidential elections.

No, because they would need enough of a majority to get past the filibuster

Democrats can use a process called Budget Reconciliation to bypass the filibuster (indeed, this is how The Inflation Reduction Act was passed under Biden). But the types of bills that are passed under the process is somewhat limited : it happens once a year, and it's provisions have to have a plausible connection to the federal budget. Which is why investments in green energy can be included, but  abortion legalization is likely to be shot down by the Senate Parliamentarian who oversees budget reconciliation, since it's far more tangential to federal spending.
