You are blessed to have a self

You are blessed to have a normal self

To be able to experience and explore a deep substantial 3D reality with this self

To be able to collect experiences with this self

To be able to relate to other selves and form relationships with them

To be able to think, to gather knowledge, ingest information, and conceptualize about yourself, your experiences, the world and others

To be able to work on yourself to develop to a better self

To be able to experience the contrast between self and no self

Your normal self might not be the perfect structure, but it’s a base, from which you have the opportunity to work with to improve, or to break apart

your normal self is the base for your experience of anything, it’s what’s needed to have any experience at all. It gives substance to the world and others. It’s the foundation for your entire life

This is taken for granted because it’s the norm

A blessing and a curse.

Agreed. It’s a mysterious structure this self. In this post though I highlighted the positive, it might sound basic, because it’s the normal experience, but it’s something I think of

It sucks to have a “self” when you see a bear in the woods, it’s game over. All your plans and everything you were looking forward to disappears.

The end of separation is the end of desire. It’s life, it’s death, it’s unity; it is the absolute. In this profound realization, we find perfection eternal, a state of everlasting harmony.

That was a good post you made. I just hate that we are so vulnerable and can easily die.

Thank you.

If you live in the west like you do, and keep yourself healthy, the risk of suddenly dying is low.

Yes, you’re right actually. I shouldn’t complain so much😂 But overall, it is difficult to survive.

do you mean pure physical survival? Because that isn’t hard if you like I said live in the west and are healthy. Our struggles tend to be about other stuff

Exactly, I was talking about physical survival, which is why I said it’s difficult to survive when we compare ourselves to the rest of the world. But you’re right about living in the West. I can’t argue with that.

Yea exactly our struggles in the west tend not to be about physical survival for most but about other things

I agree, but it is starting to become a bit rebellious now that mass immigration has occurred in many of our countries.

What do you mean by rebellious

Haha, “rebellious” might be too strong a word. Sorry! I mean that many of those who have come here have behaved poorly and don’t want to change. They can even commit murder without feeling guilty about it.

If you know you exist, you have a sense of self. Self is existence itself and you are that.

Is the self not the ego? Existence is simply existence, it does not possess an identity.

Without the ego you would still know that you exist. As what? As existence itself. So your sense of self is always something. There can't be an experience without the sense of self.

Yeah, you’re right. However, the self is often associated with the ego rather than existence itself, which is why it can be confusing to discuss these concepts sometimes.

If you know you exist, you must have a sense of you

I just wanted to repeat this so it would sink in better.

There is a physical body with senses and instincts, and it will turn its head if it's name is called....but its just emptiness appearing as a me.

Me is constantly seeking so-called positive experiences and rejecting so-called negative experiences.

The me being an illusion isn't a good or bad recognition. It's just a neutral recognition. It's not better or worse for a me. It's the end of me and therfore the end of better vs worse!
