Smoking is cool until it gives you erectile dysfunction, yellow teeth, and wrecks your finances

Well done @retroAA!!

As an alcoholic, by my own definition of someone who can’t control when to drink, I’ve been alcohol free for 15 days which is been the the longest period of time by a significant amount in the last 3 years.

Addiction to any substance is a horrible way to exist. Keep up the fight!

You go buddy! I'm 400+ days alcohol free and "stopped" smoking 8 days ago (had one single cigarrete during this time). My lung feels better definitely.

Hitting the gym and therapy have really been helping me.

GG! Cardio & strength training can get you so high. Much higher than nicotine ever could.

Don't worry about anything. You are still very young, your body will repair itself in no time. Just focus on what lies ahead, training and find some girl and enjoy life.

Update: currently on day two of no smoking. My final pack was a 20 cigarette pack of Winston Red's. Normally I prefer Marlboro, because its the smoothest and the menthol variety tastes the cleanest, unlike Newports where the menthol has a kind of dirty taste.

But I wanted to try something new, and I never had Winstons before.

So its currently day two of quitting smoking. The cravings are definitely there, and my whole body is screaming for nicotine. I'm trying to apply mindfulness to my cravings, and it is working to some extent. But I keep fantasizing about taking a nice long drag of a cigarette, and really feeling the nicotine buzz.

nicotine buzz.

I hate the nicotine buzz, it only make me dizzy and vomiting. Why would anyone crave those effects?

Its just the soothing relaxing feeling that is induced from smoking a cigarette. Sometimes I would cease smoking for a while to diminish my tolerance so that the calming effect would be stronger. Its like a calming morphine, and it makes me feel the same calmed and soothed way as if I had just meditated for two hours straight, but like instead of two hours its an instant dosage of the same feeling

So you dont experience any negative effects from cigarette like nausea and being dizzy?

No, unless I smoke too much in one sitting. But even that, I was developing tolerance to more and more nicotine, and I could smoke more cigarettes without developing a gag reflex.

Nice! I gave up smoking with mindfulness. I mean our government overly taxed cigarettes to the point they are ridiculously priced. But I loved the practice of pulling a cigarette out and just sitting with and then putting it back in the carton and each time it got longer and longer.

But I was never a heavy smoker.
