Silence or sound are properties of consciousness.

Consciousness is what Reality is, not matter, pure Consciousness is what the experience of this moment actually is. This has to be recognised.

Philosophy is something Consciousness can do. Becoming conscious is understanding, the more consciousness is infused into consciousness the more you cognise a figment of consciousness. How much can it be cognised? It can be ever more understood as all figments reflect the whole and the whole is but another figment. As you breakthrough you enter into Infinity dynamics.

Silence is the absence of mental interpretation, that is the wall that you put between yourself and the reality, then creating the self. It's impossible to be a human without a self, but it's possible be a self that knows what it is as self and can deactivate at will.

Bro I am talking only about the "sound of silence" concept. There is a faint  sound we experience in silence. Which is called sound of silence. 

Not talking about just "silence".

Some people (a YouTuber who considers himself a philosopher) say it's something spiritual. I think it has no spiritual significance. The sound we experience in silence is just biological. And not spiritual. 

I want @Leo Gura to answer what he thinks.

There isn't much available on the Internet related to this. It is a rarely used concept. Becz maybe it's stupid. A big youtuber (I wish I could send you his video....he speaks in another language) is fooling himself. 

I had experienced it in childhood. Now it's possible but very hard. I strongly believe it's biological. I mean , due to chemicals in our brain....we hear a subtle sound in silence. Which some people misinterpret and give it a spiritual significance.

@Pro24 what is sound? It's just a mental concept to name a kind of experience. Where is the difference between sight or sound? And between sound and thought? Or sound and feeling? It's just a different vibration. the point would be understanding if there is anyone listening the sound and thinking the thoughts, or are the sound and the thoughts what creates that someone. Then really realize your unreality, realize that where seems to be a you there is the infinity. Just now, here. You will laugh. Shit, seems that I'm in a park writing in a phone, and in a moment I realize that this experience is not limited, it's not closed, it's not in my mind, because there is not "my", it's only mind, it's only existence, and has not bottom, not limits, I am the fuckin infinity. You will laugh, you will see. But only when you would stop being terrified. There in nothing to grab, nothing to know. Smile to the abyss, you are that.

The weird point is realizing that nothing means absolutely nothing. Love, creation, evolution, purpose....bla bla bla. They are absolutely illusory, they are nothing. You are swimming in the infinity. Nothing has any meaning, only one thing is here: existence. What you are. And existence is absolute plenitude. Nothing else means absolutely nothing. Past lifes, karma, form, formless, life, death.... nothing, just ideas that fades in infinity. Are the same one or another, be a human or a rat, or nothing. Only and nothing else, existence. The only way to be happy is open yourself to it, anything else Is madness.

Some spiritual teachers teach about "sound of silence", which is misleading. It's not a spiritual phenomenon. Beware of such teachers. They are scientifically as well as philosophically bankrupt.

Well, In my opinion, everything has a Spiritual connotation to it; depending on how you classify Spiritual. The way you did is not what I mean, so it doesn't relate to what I mean by "everything". I do understand what you're saying, though.

I also am under the understanding that, Awareness is in the silent background from which everything appears and to sit in silence for a few minutes a day, can reveal a lot and brings forth wisdom and understanding that no other kind of practice can. In that way, it can be Spiritual.

Hearing that silent sound is, however, biological in a sense so in that way, I agree, without getting into the existential nature of how we hear sounds and what a sound really is. That's a different topic.

At the deepest level all ordinary stuff is paranormal/spiritual. Including sound. 

But I am talking on the human level in this whole thread. Our biology is causing this sound of silence thing, which spiritual teachers can misinterpret.

Yes, I get that, that's why I brought that part up. I was just bringing to attention the other uses of the word's verbiage.

It's very difficult for ordinary people here to get into the biology of silence, since that's usually the work of biologists, so it's going to be challenging for proper responses to procure appropriate answers.
