Tried that, but then I slipped back into thinking I am good like the devil I am. How does one deeply integrate the acknowledgment that one is evil.

Aim for awareness, holism, empathy. Mend what's broken.

  • "By recognizing you are evil, you become good."
    • Awareness—of how egocentric behavior is detrimental—is curative.
    • Expand the scope of your consideration beyond rash self-convenience.
  • "By thinking you are good, you become evil."
    • It's an identity, idea, appearance. Aim for doing good, not being good.
    • Forget "good" and "evil" and focus on improving the things behind the label.

@Keryo Koffa I think its much more complicated then that.

What does doing good mean, we cant know if the outcome will ultimately be good if we aim for it because we are only conscious of so much. It would be much better a derive some a priori principles.

When you do the right things for the wrong reasons the outcome will be bad. It might be that we should aim to BE BAD which results in doing good.

For example I had a friend who was I supported not because I wanted to but because I felt like I needed to to be a good person and with the aim that this would lead to something good and in the end at a low point of mine my true ego came through and I brutally ended the friendship. It would have been much better if I never came to the stupid idea that I am good.

@Jannes the evil comes from trying to be good. Don't try to be anything but yourself. Trying to be good = a demon is controlling you. Trying to be bad = an angel is controlling you. A demon has to try to be good and angel has to try to be bad.

@Jannes Narrow ideas of good and evil distort reality and confine you to a cycle of guilt.
Know your biases, but allow place for intuition also, what is "good" is not always clear.
Your emotions can help you appreciate the subtleties and make better decisions.
Sometimes, a solution that seems bad at first can actually turn out to be better.

You have to have a goal to take action and what you call evil might be your shadow.
A part of yourself you rejected due to morality, but one that holds the key to growth.
Boundaries, confidence, a hold on life, there is wisdom and strength in these things.

This would truly be an evil quote if it was 666. However, the 0 balances it out - hence it being #066

But what if your natural self wants to kill and rape and the unnatural moral self suppresses that?

Agreed deconstructing the concepts of good and evil is an important step. It helped me personally a ton. One of Leos best videos imo, but I suffered a lot from unnecessary guilt and got into guilt traps where I did something inauthentic to not feel guilt which ended up causing more harm.

I dont even know anymore what's right or wrong. Maybe thats the right place to be.

I forgot the story but it goes something like this.

A man went to church to try to look good a man tried to seek God in a bar. The bar man went to heaven. Something like that. IOW, intention is the key. Doesn't matter the outcome as much as what was the intention. That's more powerful and can override any outcome.

Can you fully grasp what your intentions are? Where their roots lead to?

"Good intentions" come from morality as morality invents good and evil. And morality is a useful collective survival strategy (collective ego) it is not "pure goodness". That you can find even a stain of pure moral white in the relative world is a fantasy.

As Alan Watts humorously said, christians unconsciously knew that they would never be able to act purely "good" so they made the feeling of guilt a virtue.

Gotta look in the mirror daily and say "I am a devil and the cause of all the worlds problems". ^_^

If I wanted to kill you and i know I can get that done by inviting you to a nice candlelight dinner to my house with lots of good food and I made your special meal and blaze blah, but I ended up poisoning you in the end and you die, that was bad intention.

If I ended up poisoning you unknowingly because I didn't realize that blue Slurpee i made you was made of windshield wiper fluid and you die, my intention was good. Nothing to do with moralizing. I could use other examples like if I gave a crack head $5 not realizing he was a crack head but just a beggar that needed food, and he bought Crack with the $5 and overdosed, my intention was good. And If gave a knowing Crack head $5 to go by Crack and they overdosed, bad intention.

Excellent insight! Your thesis is an exceptional illustration of Leo's teachings regarding the nature of Solipsism and Responsibility. Realizing the Godhood that arises from the death of the Ego, there is a satori-like realization, that all imagined reality was your own creation. This of course underscores the fact, that all evil is a fractally spreading materialization of inner conflicts given physical form and reflecting your inner world, as below so above. Navigating this transformative idea is key to growth and transformation.

You get to the heart of the problem. 🫠 It must be combined with self love somehow. This topic breaks my mind.

The world is made out of devilry. You aint special in that department. Maybe love what we devils managed to achieve..
