I don't believe in solipsism

75 posts in this topic

Solipsists claim that all that exists is "the mind".

Now, I know "I" have a mind. And if what soilipsists claim is true, then MY mind is THE mind.

Now, I can understand that MY mind is the only thing "I" can experience. But it is clearly not the ONLY mind in existence.

All that is required is a little logic to realise this. Simply by listening to other people speak, one can deduce that OTHER PEOPLE have different thoughts to one's OWN.

Look in the mirror. You have a HEAD, right? Inside YOUR head are contained YOUR THOUGHTS.

Inside OTHER PEOPLE'S heads are contained the thoughts of OTHERS.

Logic can be useful sometimes. 🤣

Useful for what, protecting your fragile ego?

You don't have the answers to consciousness

You have to tell yourself these things lol, solipsism and/or consciousness doesn't need to tell you shit, you're the one adding stuff

good luck with self inquiry with logic

I believe in karma

It’s obvious you did not watch Leo Gura’s video about solipsism because you need to understand how solipsism actually works. Or maybe this post is satire.

The end of separation is the end of desire. It’s life, it’s death, it’s unity; it is the absolute. In this profound realization, we find perfection eternal, a state of everlasting harmony.

Good don’t believe it.

If solipsism is true, everyone is you. Other people with their own unique thoughts, are included in the bubble of experience. Whatever you have experienced up to this point in life doesn’t change.

(hehe, can you predict your next thought?)

Logic is useful, but it isn’t truth. You can logic your way to many false conclusions.

I actually did watch Leo's video all the way through, TWICE.

I just think Leo didn't apply LOGIC.

Although I agree that logic has it's limitations, it can be very useful in this situation.

Killing the ego is more horrifying, epic and extreme than any fairy tale or war story you've ever heard, it's a battle of gods and demons

Logic is just the ego, solipsism and consciousness are too but they're gonna be WAY more useful going into an awakening/ego death. There is a divine transcendent logic beyond human logic too, that's beyond solipsism and consciousness even, it makes human logic look like a knitting circle

Yes logic can be useful sometimes but there are too many logical flaws in your post alone I cannot go through one by one. All I can say is you have a lot of assumptions to hold your logic. Do you also listen to dream characters?

Is it too hard for you to believe that WE ARE ALL ONE UNIFIED CONSCIOUSNESS,

Yet we also have SEPARATE minds?

Where are the separate minds in our unified consciousness?

How do I see/experience that?

For example I've loved my mother since I was born, I've never seen/experienced her mind

 I guess you've experienced something we haven't

I will never experience any Truth or exposure to my mother's mind in my life, no amount of psychedelics or spirituality

@TruthFreedom You dont have a head you are in a simulation. The void where you pretend your head it is God a void of nothing. When you look in the mirror you are the space in front of you looking in a mirror and pretending its looking at something its not.

Of course you can't experience someone else's mind, just like you can't walk with someone else's feet.

But you have heard your mother speak, and she has communicated thoughts to you which were not your own.

While solipsism is true in the fact that all you can EXPERIENCE is your own mind, it is simply not true that your experience is the only experience in existence.

Existence is a subsect of experience, which I do not experience through, it's describing the physical universe and existing as a physical temporal life form. you have this thing backwards i really believe that... There had to be an egg to be a chicken, just saying, you need colours to paint a picture

Solipsism is only true when you are the whole of existence (formless)

Elaborate on what u mean by existence then, if u have something to teach

you're either logic looping or onto something i dont understand yet, that's not part of my conscious awakening

@TruthFreedom Logically, you have your own logic. You can logically view solipsism from two world views. That of materialism, naive reality and a physical external world (this world view does not allow for a metaphysical solipsism) or, the world view that all that exists is a conscious dream. When you dream, you can speak to other people but you don’t use “logic” to say they exist. From the metaphysical solipsism lens, your life is a dream dreamed by you only. Others, including you, and any causality applied is all the same dream. All in your mind.

In the end, solipsism is a mostly useless awakening. You won’t know if it is true with logic. Because it reality is a dream, which it is, you materialistic and dualistic logic can only slice up the dream.

I think you're trying to say that experience IS existence.

Yes, I agree, my direct experience right now is all I can prove to myself as being reality.

But logic helps one escape the futility of this realisation.

Because although it does not prove to one's self in this moment that other minds exist,

It helps to make one more comfortable.

As you cannot prove right now that your toilet exists. But it's comforting to believe that it does. And it's very likely that it does. 🤣

It can even be terrifyingly real believe it or not, you can realise not only is this your only reality but there is an othermindedness nature of this only thing ( i will admit however that seems like it's implied that it needs to be solved/integrated/is a component of consciousness)

useful too for experience having some meaningful flow to it

comforting at times yes im guilty
