2024 Election Discussion General

Good video giving a basic breakdown of Trump's character:

Trump has essentially spent his whole life creating a deceptive public persona. And the reason people don't care is because many of them are doing the same thing, maybe just on a lesser level.

You can't condemn Trump's corruption without condemning the corruption within yourself.

In actuality, many of not most of these 'undecided voters' are in actuality Trump supporters who are too ashamed to publicly admit that they're voting for an openly bigoted sexual predator and wanna-be dictator. (I personally know  some of these people: Trump supporters who pretend to be 'undecided' to save face).

If that's true, then it's over for kamala.

Not true. Trump is a minoritian candidate (just like the Nazis were always a minoritian party within Weimer Germany). Meaning that if large numbers of people turn out to vote, he's toast. Trump's white, Christian nationalist grievance politics have a ceiling of around %30-40 of the country, which is why the modern Trumpian Republican Party depends upon low turnout to win national elections.

This election was always going to hinge on overall turnout, not the tiny proportion of so-called 'undecided' voters in an election where basically everyone has made up their mind about the two candidates. More specifically, thanks to our antiquated electoral institutions, it's going to hinge on turnout in the 7 key swing states.

Yeah I know, thats my experience as well when it comes to interacting with most "centrist" people.

Lets pretend for the sake of virtue signaling that we are not biased, and that we can give a bias-free analysis of any given event or politician or situation -  while in reality having a strong bias for Trump and never give any strong criticism of Trump and only being critical of the left.

Or the other fun scenario where we 'both sides' all issues and we pretend that making a set of inferences and creating a narrative has the same kind of accuracy and validity to it as actually relying on facts. ("Sure Trump did those things, but isnt it weird that ...")

@Buck Edwards She's not hollow at all. It's an inaccurate take. People just don't know her yet.

She's not there to entertain you. That being said, she is a passionate hard working person with lot's of experience. She is the only qualified candidate.

People voting for Trump are blind.

He has no plan, it's all ego for him. He is the embodiment of corruption.

She's the last stance for democracy. If you can't get behind what she symbolizes and stands for... I don't get it.

The fact that Americans are anti-communist, anti-Marxist, anti fascist as the right says they are, yet so willingly votes for Trump who has openly made statements about ending democracy, using the military on the American people, using tarifs in a way that would destroy the American economy, and the fact that he partook in elections fraud, and January 6th storming of the capital when Mike Pence chose integrity..

Trump was never a business success. He played one on TV. Then, they voted him to be president. It's embarrassing. People who worked with Trump are sounding the Alarm on how he has no idea what he is doing. But, people are just going along with it because they think he is a normal leader/ politician.

Republicans love to defend the constitution, except, now they look to destroy it.

The American Legal system has failed Americans.

News outlets like Fox have failed Americans.

Information isn't linear, and people are consuming it from different sources, with their own limited biases, databases, IQ, and mental frameworks.

If news sources had more integrity, as did the American legal system people would have a better idea of who this man is and the consequences of having him in power. The thing is, Americans are tied up in so many ropes of cognitive biases and an ocean of lies, that no one can really tell what is going on. It's an Ocean of Noise.

What makes you think Stein voters would vote for Kamala if Stein wasn’t running? Maybe they’d just stay home.

It’s not unfortunately.

The correct way to think about Trump is that he will seize what political power he can. He would happily be president for life.

Its really only a question of if the establishment would be able to prevent it.

Yes, although I don’t put him at the same level of Trump. Elon actually has had some impressive business accomplishments.

Jill Stein is embarrassing and should not be taken seriously by anyone as a presidential candidate.

Kamala is hollow in the sense that she’s probably not going to do anything too bold.

I do not follow what you're saying.

Trump is and never be allowed to do anything unconstitutional.
