We are a community, if people dont want me here or collectively think I should be banned, I would have left long time ago.

Last time I was accused (wrongly in my view) of causing personal drama even @Inliytened1 kindly messaged me for support (hope he doesnt mind the mention). I dont agree with the characterisaiton and assumed intent of my posts.  I am basically responding to unprovoked condescions with the same condescions. But if people are in good faith so am I

.just checking in I'm currently out with the hot witch girlfriend and she hates when I'm on the forum haha.   But I don't mind.  I haven't read the whole thread so I can't comment but from what I did see about the AI part it's valid.  Look I'm not here to defend Trump but the thing is at the end of the day- let's not be so quick to compare the guy to Hitler.  Sure he has some narcissistic qualities...he's a narcissist in every sense of the word.  But I do believe the bottom line is the middle class wants shit to get better.  We want to be able to walk safe on the streets at night and we want to be able to afford groceries for our families.    Shit has to change.  When it comes to survival I don't care about orange or turquoise.   I could be the most woke person on the fucking planet but I still have to buy eggs for my kids at the end of the day.  And my son likes the expensive yogurt at Costco :)

Is the guy gonna become a Hitler? I doubt it.

Selling your soul to the Devil for a cartoon of eggs and some yogurt.

This is a recurring historical trend. Right wing socioeconomic policies (laissez-faire capitalism) lead to social dysfunction as more and more people either fall into poverty or fear doing so. The mainstream right can't win elections on these policies any more because they have become unpopular, but rather than change those it either allies or becomes the extremist right (authoritarian and reactionary), going all in on distractions and scapegoating.

This leaves the social liberals (pro-capitalist but not socially conservative) and the social democrats as the only democratic factions to counter them, but the former block most major re-distributive policies and even the most moderate moves towards a fairer society have to be fought over tooth and nail. This alliance (either as intra-party in a two party or as a coalition in multiparty systems) then fails to do enough to keep their voters on board, disillusionment sets in, voters stay home and the extremist right takes over.

Fortunately, it doesn't always completely run through this cycle, but it keeps happening. It has now happened to the USA and the best case scenario is that when those lukewarm Trump supporters are angry at not getting what they wanted out of this "change" (and they won't), they will still have the means to vote the government out. If not, then you're stuck until a revolution happens.

Arguing that more social democracy would have scared away voters is sort of pointless IMHO, because if that is true then you're doomed anyway. Unless you lower economic inequality through government policy, a descent into reactionary authoritarianism is inevitable because democracy can only work when people are more or less equal and capitalism left to itself will always concentrate wealth and power into ever fewer hands.

I'm reposting here something I have read on r/politics, which is a response to Bernie's earlier statement.

A pattern I have seen at play for nearly 30 years, through my proximity with France.

We need to get out of this loop.

I'm so sorry for y'all.

The US eco/political system is so abusive that many of the poor souls living there have turned loopy.

Regarding implementing Project 2025, people close to Trump are saying it's time to implement it, and they're smiling like they tricked you while they say it. Video timestamped to take you right to it.

Ahhhhh, I'm getting excited. I can't fucking wait for their eggs to skyrocket and their rights to be taken away.

I think Americans are tired of identity politics and are looking for real solutions.  A man is not garbage because he doesn’t want another man in the woman’s bathroom with his daughter.  A woman president is not an inherent virtue.  And to me “left” should be reserved for working for an economy that is just to the workers.  That includes an economy that eliminates financial rent seeking and other issues, such as restructuring an economy so that it doesn’t depend on Chinese slave labor.  If RFK is given real power in the government, the Trump administration could end up being a much more progressive force than divisive identity politics which pits workers against each other based on their identities.

Project 2025 and oligarchs raping the lower and middle class is not a real solution.

Trump will steal your prosperity and give it to his crony friends.

I would love to be wrong. But I think over the next two years you will see how not-a-hoax it is.

You have been fooled.

I’m seeing a lot of Democrat response is that the campaign was nearly perfect and it’s the voters fault.

This is a mistake, they seem hell bent on learning nothing.

It would be great to confront the issue of wealth inequality but neither party is even close to doing this thanks to money in politics and identity politics is a massive distraction.
