2024 Election Discussion General

So I was discounting it earlier but I think I was wrong. It is very possible the Israel issue can cost Kamala the election as if trump gets all the states he is currently leading in according to polls, Kamala loses if she loses either Michigan or Pennsylvania. I was thinking most arabs / Muslims would still vote Kamala but it’s clear if a significant minority doesn’t that’s a problem, unless of course something like more young women voters compensates for it.

Of course if Kamala takes Georgia or Nevada which is also possible that would give breathing room here.

I don’t understand what democrats are doing, it would be very easy for them to tell Fetterman, Tores, and the Clinton’s to STFU and at least get Israel to agree to a month long ceasefire during November. They wouldn’t even have to stop giving Israel arms or stop the war long term, just get the issue less in peoples minds.

Only thing that makes sense to me is maybe Biden partly wants Trump to win so that Israel can finish the ethnic cleansing and people way pay less attention to his part in it if Trump oversees most of it.

If Trump wins, republicans would be smart to start a psyop pretending to be democrats and try to spread hatred from democrats against Muslims blaming them for the election, this could possibly push Muslims even more away from democrats post election

In Michigan:

Jill Stein, Green Party, is surpassing Harris in the polls.

The survey from the Council on American-Islamic Relations found that Stein took the support of 42.3% of Muslim voters to Harris’ 41%.

The critical swing state of Michigan is home to more than 240,000 Muslims.

Many of their leaders, like Rep. Rashida Tlaib, have refused to back Harris’ campaign.

There is a real chance that Harris may lose this state, and thus the election, due to this single voting demographic. Even Vaush agrees that if Jill Stein is successful is pulling enough votes from Harris to turn this state for Trump, then it will be entirely 100% the Democrats fault, not even Jill Stein would be to blame.

P.S. I did vote for Stein.

Actually, if you look at the gender gap between male and female voters for early voting in Michigan, it is historic. Women in Michigan don't want their reproductive freedoms taken away from them.

Michael Moore says that even Harris loses some of the Arab voters from 2020, they will still be able to make up for it from both the anti-Trump Republican voters and many other voters out there who are both enthusiastic about Harris and terrified of Trump.

Trump and Vance are still talking about how they didn't lose in 2020 and how they will control women whether they like it or not and regardless of abortion.

Well, how did all of that work out for them in the 2022 midterms?

Also, Harris and the Democrats got 9 out of the 13 keys according to Lichtman. So, that should be more than enough for her to win.

I really think it’s a mistake for Arab and Muslim voters to go for third-party candidates in this election.

Kamala Harris is honestly the best option there is to help protect Palestinian interests. If Trump gets back in, Netanyahu is going to be thrilled because he’ll get way more out of the White House than he does now. He WANTS Trump to win.

Voting third-party might feel like making a statement, but it leads in fact to a much worse situation. Stein has no chances of winning, and so your vote that could keep Trump out of the White house is lost.

Hey guys, for the first time, Trump is behind in Iowa, per one of the country's top polls! This breaks with 2016 and 2020 trends!

Rashida Tliab refusing to endorse Harris is shameful.

A Trump presidency is the most dangerous thing right now for the Palestinians. They will let Israel unleash all hell with zero checks.

I feel sorry for her. Six months from now, she’s going to have to endure President Trump dressed as a crying relief aid worker, twerking to the YMCA with his bare buttocks flapping about, all at the rate this bozo is becoming more unhinged by the day. Talk about a disaster in more ways than one!

It's interesting that Rashida Tliab would do such a thing. I wonder what's her thought process. Her and those other few house progressives don't strike me as being straight stupid, so is there a deeper strategy here?

Doubtful. It's most likely just progressive idiocy.

I don't know about Bibi, if the Israeli lobby wants Trump to win, Trump will win.

I really liked this video. Biden and Harris have actually been decent on the issue of mass migration, as they've successfully closed asylum loopholes people were using to enter America illegally, and have increased deportations. This makes sense, as Harris was a prosecutor.

HARRIS IS AHEAD IN IOWA

Why this is a big deal: Iowa is a state that Biden lost by 8 points in 2020, and Seltzer is widely recognized as the most accurate pollster of the last several election cycles (correctly predicting Obama, Trump, and Biden's victories).

If Harris is up by 3 in Iowa (the most conservative of the Midwest states),  it's highly likely that she's going to sweep the other Midwestern states she needs to win the election. There's a good chance that this is also indicative that the polls have been overestimating Trump's support in the other swing states as well.

“The function of agencies is to reduce your agency. That’s the link between something as seemingly trivial as killing an innocent squirrel and the unraveling of civilization itself. One might appear minor, the other apocalyptic, but both are driven by the same impulse: the impulse to regulate. Agencies are designed to regulate; the term itself means, at its root, “to make regular.” Having a squirrel as a pet? That’s not considered regular. And make no mistake—that’s what this is all about.

Of course, the statists will insist on quibbling over legalities, debating who did or didn’t or should have had the proper license to keep wildlife. A license, after all, is just another permission slip from the government, a formality they expect you to obtain before doing anything outside the “regular” sphere. But that’s beside the point. The real reason we have these endless agencies, laws, and layers of bureaucracy is that if governments limited themselves to essential tasks, they’d quickly run out of things to do. And when that happens, people might start asking some uncomfortable questions, like where exactly that hefty cut of every paycheck is going.

So here we are, with agencies grasping for purpose, justifying their budgets by meddling in people’s lives. They’re driven by a bias toward action—after all, inaction doesn’t give them power or money. And they lean toward NO, because YES doesn’t give them power or money, either. Can I launch a rocket? NO, it might disrupt a seal or endanger a shark. Can I paint my house purple? NO, it might affect property values. Can I create a bank account under a pseudonym? NO, it might help you evade taxes. Can I care for an abandoned baby squirrel? NO, it might carry rabies. The reasons they give are little more than a thin veneer of excuse, masking an underlying desire for control.

When government agencies regulate everything, you’re left only with what’s regular. What everyone else does. It’s insufferable—and frankly, Patrick Henry would be up in arms by now, as we all should be. But it doesn’t stop there. This isn’t just high-handed or dystopian, or even simply tyrannical. It’s worse. It’s civilization-destroying.

Why? Because civilization and progress are rare and delicate achievements, requiring a unique set of conditions. History shows that most societies have stagnated, spending generation after generation toiling in the same ways, struggling to subsist. Civilizational progress, that rare jewel achieved by only a few societies, requires an environment where trying new things is easy and free of friction. It demands novelty, innovation, the pursuit of the untested. Things that aren’t normal. Things that aren’t regular. And when everything is made regular, innovation dies.

It’s not regular to keep a pet squirrel, just as it wasn’t regular to shine high-frequency radiation through people for imaging, or to channel lightning into experiments, or to treat infections with mold, or to attach wings to a bicycle and try to fly. Every innovation that has separated us from famine, poverty, and disease started as an abnormal behavior that made others uncomfortable. Liberty gives rise to technology, wealth, civilization, and quality of life—everything worth having. And bureaucracy takes it all away.

In this case, that bureaucracy led to the death of a small, innocent, loving creature. Not just death, but murder—done with premeditation and malice. Peanut was happy, never having known anything from humans but love. Peanut, without a hint of malice, couldn’t understand why he was being taken from the only home he knew, to a place of execution. He didn’t know what he’d done wrong. He died confused, alone, and terrified—all so a few petty, spiteful officials could justify their jobs and feel important. The harm they caused may seem small in the universe, but it was not small in Peanut’s universe, and it can never be undone.“
