Narcs care about that stuff a lot.

Once you have all the money in the world, what do you do? All that's left to chase is attention, approval, praise.

Attention and praise can be a greater high than money, because it makes the ego feel validated in all its self-deceptions. What Musk really wants is to convince himself his worldview is correct. And the best way to do that is to enroll millions of people to lick you up and down.

Fame is one hell of a trip.

Right, but that's what makes it scary. What if those self-serving actions, given the techbros capability for impactfulness, produce a bizarre and undesirable future? I'm someone who was previously leaning in their direction politically. But after hearing more about how they actually view the world, even I would admit a mistake may have been made in giving them support.

I guess we're strapped in for the ride either way, so we'll just have to see where it goes. Perhaps it's an unnecessary worry.

The monopolization of media is the single biggest development in the 21st century which no one is taking seriously. It's going to have major negative consequences for generations to come. This is just the tip of the iceberg. A handful of companies who care nothing about truth have hijacked the world's entire media apparatus and no one even noticed.

While conservatives are bitching about stupid things like trans people, gays, and illegals, the heist of the century is going completely unnoticed. This is the real crime of conservatism. It's all just bullshit games of distraction from the real issues.

If we had a serious populist politics, all these Techbros would be crucified for their epistemic crimes against humanity.

So very sneaky. One thing that's becoming clear to me is that they're up to something, more so than I realized before. And it doesn't seem like recent events are just the results of happenstance. It's too bad that "conspiracy" has become such a dirty word, because it's likely appropriate.

Even the fucking Biden administration was doing great work to check monopolies over the last 4 years. No one even appreciated this. That's the foolishness of anti-liberalism.
