If the Latino vote continues to grow within the GOP base, Republican leaders might pursue policies that emphasize both security and family-friendly immigration reforms, potentially leading to a moderate but secure stance on immigration.

Not sure where they got those car prices but they see off. I haven't vetted this but I'm just saving it for the gas and groceries.

If truth is the guide, there's no need for ideology, right or left.

Maturity in discussion means the ability to separate ideas from identity so one can easily recognize new, irrefutable information as valid, and to fully integrate it into one’s perspective—even if it challenges deeply held beliefs. Both recognition and integration are crucial: the former acknowledges truth, while the latter ensures we are guided by it.

Here's Elon boasting that he has power over all government employees.

For those who don't know, the "*" means all people who have a .gov address.

Richest man in the world buys control over U.S government employees, all out in the open, then brags about it, and people cheer it on.

Finally a democrat who gets it.

CARVILLE FUMING: "What you've done ain’t worth a shit. Get your head around that... We’re going to say we told you so... We told you this identity shit was a disaster. We told you to get out in front of public safety issues. You didn't."

Apparently we understand nothing about this work if we voted for Trump.  IMO, the same if you voted for Harris.  She is devoid of direction imo.  So I'm Awake, with ZERO choice of a candidate to vote for.  Perhaps after another billion reincarnation there will be a suitable tier 2 candidate.

Give me a break.

Considering. Maybe the the mods and administrator recommend me to do so.

Very mature discussion about the current political climate. The three takeaways :

1- Forgive and love the other side
2- Not trying to be above or disengage from the process
3- Recognizing that you don't have to be at the mercy of the results

Also, Jesus was more humanitarian than FDR

I recommend it. It would be better for forum organization IMO because many of the posts now are about the election aftermath rather than the election itself. Two different conversations IMO. For example, I would like to share this video but it doesn't really fit into this thread, I don't think.

Sam Harris pretty much shows himself here to be an elite guy completely out of touch with the lives of ordinary Americans. Someone needs to tell him that most Americans are struggling financially and are primarily thinking about finances when they vote and not about trans stuff.

Something I'm starting to realize is that nobody truly knows why the vote went the way it did, including myself, of course. It's just guesses all around, with everyone offering a different opinion while simultaneously being convinced that they're infallibly correct.

Something I'm starting to realize is that nobody truly knows why the vote went the way it did, including myself, of course. It's just guesses all around, with everyone offering a different opinion while simultaneously being convinced that they're infallibly correct.

There's a confluence of factors which can each be applied weights. Collect all the factors and try to assign them weights. Here are my top factors:

Immigration: When the Haitian Springfield story popped off, I knew that was a very powerful tactic because I can put myself into the minds of apolitical people making sense of it. That story, even though it was false, shined the light on a real world example of our immigration problem, and that was immensely powerful because the people had never seen it before. This was a HUGE factor. Not many people are talking about it now, but it was big. I saw several intelligent people saying this was a misstep by Trump. Not only were they wrong, they were dead fucking wrong.

Influencers: Influencers like Musk and Rogan are one of the largest factors, if not the largest. This should be very easy to see. You know how influencers get paid $100,000 just to take a sip of Coke when they're on a live stream... yeah, there's a reason for that. Influencer marketing works. So, how big an impact would one of the largest influencers in the world make? Take your time with that one.

Effective anti-establishment/woke/manosphere propaganda: Disdain for establishment and identity politics and transgenders. Sam is right about identity politics and trans. The problem is, gender dysphoria is real and since the Dems acknowledge it, it makes it look like they're fucking nuts to unconscious bigots. Two people got gender reassignment surgery in prison but the Reps would have everyone believe it's widespread. There is a problem with social contagion, and it needs to be addressed. Many fools are just confused and seeking attention via transgenderism, as evident by their need to flaunt what they're doing in everyone's face. That hasn't been called out by the Dems, and it made for an effective line of attack, albeit utterly misleading and deceptive.

Here's a good question:

For all the people who have actual disdain for the left and LGBTQ, what percentage of those people do you think say they voted for Trump due to economic reasons but were really motivated by disdain?

Would there be any reason to go with they "voted for the economy" rather than voting from disdain? Of course people want to have good reasons for why they do what they do and voting for Trump out of bigotry is not reasonable, so they seek reasonable justifications like "the economy" but it's not the true motivation behind their vote.

Most new votes came from here:

  • The problem of immigration, which the reality of was largely distorted for purpose of manipulation
  • Influencers
  • Solid attacks on identity politics
  • Misc. propaganda/fear mongering

Combine those with the already shored up vote:

  • Cultists
  • Simple bigots
  • Anti-establishment / hatred of woke/identity politics
  • Christians

And you have yourself an election.

These mainstream media talking points about people voting because groceries went up doesn't map on to what I'm seeing in reality.

It has more to do with "the people embraced the right" than "the people rejected the left".

And that embrace manifested mostly due to the manipulation of an unwitting populace, not because the populace wised up to and rejected the Dems. That's absurd. The citizens are a bunch of sheep, easily steered.

Lastly, to drive this point home, for all the people who were already in the anti-establishment/woke camp, which factor would they most likely enjoy focusing on?

Answer: People have seen the devilry of the left, just like we have, and now they're wise to them, just like we are. They have seen what we have been saying all along.

Isn't that a pleasant idea for the anti-establishment/woke crowd? I bet it makes them feel good

I recommend trying to figure out if this is true with Leo's self-bias video.

If someone is looking at his high grocery bills and is worried about his rent, and the people in charge deny there is such a thing as inflation while lecturing him that he isn’t using the correct pronouns, maybe disdain is an appropriate response.  Or an even better response is throw the bums out.  The good news is that democracy is working just fine.  Let the voters decide.  The democratic party will come back when the common sense people take back control.  It's a two party system so it goes back and forth.

I disagree that one must vote for Harris in order to understand what this work is all about.  I can be wide awake and still disagree with the "woke" crowd.  I'm against DEI, but I'm for a meritocracy.  The US has sovereign borders that are there for a reason.  Give me a break Leo.

True, the thing is most people just want the same things - safety, a liveable income and community. People don’t disdain LGBTQ, they disdain a political and cultural climate that elevates it above all else.

Fair point. We'll have to meet in the middle though. You know there are many who loathe minorities and LGBTQ for their very existence.

I had a friend who didn't mind black people so long as they didn't act "ratchet" and speak in ebonics and act like n*. He thought that because he only hated those types, he wasn't actually racist. 😂

Do you know people whose face morphs into disgust at the sight of LGBTQ and how quick white people are to do jokes about "n*" when no one is around? I know many and I've seen it my entire life. Go hang out with a bunch of rural white folk around a bonfire and watch how many jokes are made and watch them all laugh.

Did you know that every MLK Jr. day, search for "n*gger jokes" increases by 30%?

@zazen How do you fit this into your thinking:

fd9xDcW.png

IDK if you live under a rock or what, but many people are strongly motivated by hatred of minorities and LGBTQ.

Those people who you think are pure in heart are pissed about more than rent, groceries, and the notion that minorities are being put above them. Minorities were hated with a passion long before society even acknowledged them as human, but I guess now they just hate them because they're getting preferential treatment... got it.

No way to wiggle out of this one.
