I hope you guys are learning the lesson.

Survival, survival, survival.

Thats exactly why i said what I said.  After all if you aren't alive how can you care about advanced topics.   Your health and survival at the end of the day is the only thing that keeps you within this reality.  Within this dream.  So we can armchair shit all day but you still have to be able to wake up and live another day.  That's not a bug it's a feature.

After Hillary lost in 2016 they were able to blame the electoral college, Bernie and Jill Stein

The margins here are so large and there was no primary they can’t really. They also can’t blame where people are Kamala did slightly better there. They can’t really blame men either as Trump also did slightly better with women than in 2020.

Their only choice is either blame Biden or the voters themselves.

@Leo Gura What would your advice be to the Democratic Party for how it can move forward and regain support in the next election cycle?

Run truly charismatic and likeable candidates, not hollow vanilla party loyalists.

We are so far from that that another lifetime wouldn't be enough.

One of the most foolish things I believed was that banning money in politics could be a realistic goal. Cenk sold me on that pile of leftist pipedreams. I even donated $1000 to it. What a waste of money that was.

But there was a lot of left wing activism after Trump won in 2016.

All those waves of wokeness, womens march, blm, Palestine also recently.

What if all those groups and more used anger at Trumps admin to organize around this, keep in mind 80-90% of Americans support such an amendment and even Bernie Sanders is publicly talking about it now.

Andrew Yang is also campaigning on ranked choice voting.

@Leo Gura What about their policies, cultural codes and developmental worldview? Would you recommend they shift into more of a late Orange expression and moderate away from Green, or do you think a charismatic and likable candidate can sell Green to the electorate, if they do it right?

Do you see the possibility for an early Yellow politician to come in and unite various factions by presenting more of an evolved vision that moves beyond yet integrates Green?

She did run a competent campaign.

Dems never used to fail this spectacularly. This is a sweeping victory for Reps, who themselves used to be incompetent in running elections.

Certainly her campaign is to blame, along with her actions in the previous administration.

The average American is repulsed and disgusted by green. They will never be sold on what they are incapable of understanding.

Their children might be open to green, once they see how sick their blue and orange parents are.

I banned two more people from the politcs sub-forum. So watch what falsehoods you post.

People posting falsehood will lose access to the politics sub-forum.

If you post one obvious factually false thing, I will block you. If you post links to propaganda, I will block you. If you gaslight us about Trump's crimes or actions, I will block you.

This won't be enough to combat the propaganda machine, which will only get stronger now, and the left's pathetic excuse for a propaganda machine will become even less effective than it already is.

You can have all the charisma in the world but if you can't get eyeballs on you and excite the people with drama, insults, and grandiose promises, you can't compete with the Republican party. If you think the age of Fox News propaganda was bad, you ain't seen nothing yet.

Trump increased his support across every demographic in nearly every county, and it ain't because the Dems fucked up. The people were heavily influenced.

The only way the dems come back from this is to fight fire with fire.

If truth is the guide, there's no need for ideology, right or left.

Maturity in discussion means the ability to separate ideas from identity so one can easily recognize new, irrefutable information as valid, and to fully integrate it into one’s perspective—even if it challenges deeply held beliefs. Both recognition and integration are crucial: the former acknowledges truth, while the latter ensures we are guided by it.

Just false.

Dems lost plenty of elections badly. Look up Reagan's victory.

People choose someone who makes them feel special.

Why have most American chose Obama then?

Were they more developed then than they are now? Probably not.

People want someone to make them feel connected to their deeper more spiritual selves.

Trumpism will eventually implode from its own corruption and people will beg for something liberal.

Very interesting post-election analysis on this stream, with the attendees having a similar conversation to posts here.

Harris was likeable.  But she was a hollow party loyalist.  In today's society though likeablity is not enough.   They want someone that exhibits qualities where they can think for themselves.   A strong presence.  A leadership presence that can really move the people and convince them that change is an absolute certainty if they were in office.

It's obvious with Trump that it didn't matter whether they liked him as a person or not.  It's whatever helped them lead a better life.

From everyone I talked to that voted for trump, most of them did for some financial-related incentive.

It's usually just some petty agenda they have.

They better hope there's even a country left to salvage.

We had thought that Trump being voted out in 2020 was the American population waking up. Nope! One step forward, 500 steps back.

Hopefully this time he won't tweet himself out of office and Covid won't hit.

He's learned and the second time around he's going to be even better.  The reason the liberals won last time is because Covid destroyed the economy and his behavior made him appear unhinged.  This time around I think you'll see a more reserved Trump.  But I do think there will be things that could push him over the edge.  We'll see.

Because they can't differentiate between the right way to do so and the wrong way. But the thirst to be special and out of their gray mandane modern lives comes from a good childish place originally, and they intuite the leader who they think will shortcut their way to there.
