I can't completely agree with this, because Biden actually won in 2020, so that's as back as I'll go. However, it's true the Democratic party establishment used all its means to tear down the popular candidate Bernie at that time. That was a pity, he aged better than Biden ironically, but that was impossible to guess though.

JD Vance is the most integrous and capable politician in the history of US politics.

Look hes clearly in it for self-gain, but all policitians are at some level, so singling him out for this criteria is pointless. He clearly has some values hes willing to campagin for above and beyond any personal financial benefits.

my question would be who comprised the 15 million dems that sat out? as a dem that did not vote because I live in another country and am registered in a blue state, I'm part of that demographic. would I have cast a symbolic president vote if the dems ran someone better? idk since I don't vote when I'm abroad. I voted in 2020 since I was in the USA at that time.

I can say I think I can speak for one of the 15 million when I say I see myself as heavily alienated and unwelcome in my own party and people like to talk game theory to me that somehow the lesser of two evils is a vote for Kamala, but I see both two equally painful evils in their own way.

If the voting base amongst Democrats are much more developed than Republicans, why is California (a Democrat stronghold) experiencing the issues it is including many businesses and people leaving? 

Are progressive policies not developed well .. is it developed to prioritise DEI, equity,  pronouns and micro aggressions over the fundamentals of what makes a society function such as safety on the streets. California designated theft of goods under $950 as just a misdemeanour - theft hiked up after that.

But Trump did slightly worse with white voters, he just did much better with black and Latino voters.

They are leaving now that prices are sky high, but why did they come at all? Why are prices sky high?
