Scott Galloway Analysis:

Quote

Scott Galloway dissects the 2024 US election, framing it as a battle of masculinities. The far-right's "coarse and cruel" vision of provocative aggression clashes with the far-left's "be more like a woman" message. Neither resonates with young men, who, Galloway argues, aren't becoming more conservative, but rather feel abandoned by a Democratic Party obsessed with social justice at the expense of economic solutions. This exclusion is starkly symbolized by the DNC website, which lists numerous demographic groups it champions, yet omits young men – the very group facing perhaps the steepest decline, plagued by homelessness, suicide, and incarceration.

Trump, in contrast, weaponizes authenticity. His politically incorrect, often offensive pronouncements, read as "raw" and genuine, a refreshing antidote to the perceived slickness and inauthenticity of traditional politicians. This, amplified by the (potentially misguided) faith in his business acumen, cements the perception that he's the better economic steward, despite evidence suggesting otherwise. Galloway points to Trump's strategic brilliance in leveraging podcasts like Joe Rogan's, reaching millions and softening his image—a tactic Harris should emulate. "He's zagging while everyone zigs," Galloway observes, tapping into a wellspring of anger and grievance.

Galloway exposes the "vibe session" of American politics, where perception reigns supreme. Despite robust economic growth, a sense of decline pervades. This dissonance, he suggests, stems from the stark reality of unevenly distributed prosperity, social media algorithms engineered to divide, and a fraying social compact, reflected in declining homeownership and birth rates among young people. He laments the digital age's elevation of personality over policy, transforming politicians into performers incentivized to generate outrage for fundraising. Substantive policy discussions are suffocated by sensationalism.

He champions a move away from identity politics, proposing class-based affirmative action. "The color should be green," he declares, arguing that economic disadvantage, not race or other identity markers, should be the focus. This, he believes, would resonate more broadly and address the root causes of inequality.

The "October Surprise"—Tim Dillon's ill-conceived Puerto Rican joke—highlights the perils of performative politics. While comedians deserve latitude, Dillon's joke missed the mark because, simply put, it wasn't funny. Worse, it was a strategic blunder, potentially alienating Puerto Rican voters in crucial swing states.

Galloway, admitting confirmation bias, predicts a Harris victory, driven by women mobilized around bodily autonomy and potentially energized Puerto Rican voters. Yet, he acknowledges Trump's advantage in enthusiasm and the inherent risk in betting against an incumbent. A decisive victory, he stresses, is crucial to avoid post-election chaos.

He warns of foreign actors weaponizing social media to sow discord, singling out TikTok's potent algorithm for amplifying extreme content. He also criticizes the unchecked power of social media companies, suggesting a clandestine collaboration with government agencies, all while publicly decrying regulation.

The specter of autocracy looms large. Galloway notes the implicit threat that compels support for Trump, a fear of reprisal should he regain power. While he doesn't share the widespread panic about a Trump presidency, trusting in the resilience of American institutions, he worries about the erosion of women's reproductive rights and the crippling long-term economic consequences of unchecked deficits.

His forthcoming book on masculinity, he explains, is a response to the plight of struggling young men. He calls for a new "code" of masculinity, emphasizing responsibility, protection, and procreation, a stark contrast to the manosphere's shallow focus on wealth acquisition.

On pornography, he acknowledges its ubiquity while cautioning against excessive consumption, advocating for real-world connection over digital substitutes. He identifies loneliness as AI's most insidious threat, offering seductive yet hollow replacements for genuine human relationships. He concludes with a stark truth: anything truly rewarding in life is hard-won. Embracing the struggle, he suggests, is the key to fulfillment.

@bambi how are you so insufferable? I wasn't arguing with you, I just told you that your people reading skills suck and offered something that might help you.

I am sick of all these leftist narratives. It's wrong.

“Abandoning working class people" is just a code word for: low developed people.

Yeah, Dems abandoned low developed people. That's why Dems are better than Repubs. Repubs cater to low development and that's why they win.

That doesn't bode well for Dems then. I'm guessing that similar to a pyramid, there'll always be a larger number of lower-development individuals.

I don't think it's a perfect correlation. And it is definitely not how Bernie would use that word.

People everywhere are racist.

Racism is not some localized phenomnon. This has existed everywhere since your ancestors were chimps, a million years of racism. The notion that racism is gone is laughable.

There’s also the Vaush explanation, that men were largely pulled to the right because of alternative media such as; Joe Rogan, Theo Von, and various podcasts which have overtaken mainstream media in popularity.

Vaush’s explanation basically boiled down to the fact that there is nothing stopping a fourteen year old boy from going on YouTube and finding videos of Jordan Peterson ranting against Transgendered Marxists.

Meanwhile the Harris campaign was mediocre and lacked the angry populist messaging that was featured in the Trump campaign.

At the root of the issue, according to Vaush, this was a fundamental and National rejection of centrist Liberal ideology peddled by mainstream Democrats, and a hunger for populist anger.

Dems are not better than Repubs. I think reality doesn't match your ideals here. No one has an appreciation for the rule of law and the courts and whatnot when you're only so developed and have a scarcity based world view. true development is meeting people where they are at. It's like giving an iphone to a caveman instead of a lighter. They have no use for the iphone but the lighter brings fire to them easier and will actually uplift them. An iphone is far more "developed" than a lighter though engineering wise. Meet people where they are if you actually love them, as challenging as that can be. People want answers for why they can barely afford groceries but Kamala is giving them her pronouns. This is a severe break of integrity with what actually is vs thinking your ideals are what reality should be.

Becuase I am much more intelligent then you, so its insufferable to you.

I dont need help clearly. You can't even construct a proper argument my friend, you are light years away from accurately and genuinely helping me.

Look, if you disagree with me, and think Vance didnt come across intelligent or capable on Rogan podcast, make a list of specific points and reasoning and I will reviw it with you

Probably true, but there's also nothing stopping them from finding Vaush or Hassan.

How are the Democrats abandoning lower developed people when they want to see that these “lower developed people” have union membership and healthcare?

Isn’t it the Republicans who abandoned the lower developed people by gutting; unions, healthcare, minimum wage and many more policies which would assist “lower developed people” in their material survival?

I didn't say anything about his intelligence. I was saying that he is full of shit and is conning you. And you, with your infinite levels of intelligence, are falling for his grift.

Bernie doesn't understand psychological development.

I'm not claiming a perfect correlation.

It's a better correlation than all this empty political punditry from left, right, or center.
