@QandC I don't think it's hyperbole to say he is fascist. I know the left likes to throw that term around but his deportation policy is almost exactly like what happened with the Jews. Not to mention he wants to dismantle bureaucracy and place loyalist in positions of power. His speeches even align with Hitler's.

Do we have to start gassing immigrants before we realize this?

Come on... gassing immigrants? You're comparing pears with apples.

Trump won because the american population is sick and tired of the democrat leftist agenda Bs.

Not that the right conservative wing is better or less 'evil', but when one alternative hasn't worked, they will choose another option. And that option is Trump :) You can like it or not. I hope he does good, and something tells me that he will.

Let kids have what they want or they will keep longing for it forever. Let the fire burn their fingers so that they learn. I wish Trump unleashes hell on Americans.

The democratic party really needs to listen with respect to the American voters.   When they continue the name calling and the hyperbole they are just shifting the blame to an outside source.  They could start with making their primary process fair allowing everyone to compete so they get the strongest candidate.  They could also refocus on issues like the economy and inflation.   The democratic party will come back because America is a two party system, but introspection at this point would be a good thing.

Quite unlikely, imo. It's still very early in a kind of grieving process, but what I'm currently seeing is increased resentment without feeling the need to make any future concessions. Could be a wild future for us all.

@QandC Okay you're half-reading what I write and clearly don't know about American politics if you think the democratic party is anything resembling left.

I'll refer you to Leo's blog post on his election prediction and wish you well.

@Zega

My understanding of American politics is that terms like “left” and “right” mean different things than they might elsewhere. In a global context, the Democratic Party may not seem “left” compared to more progressive parties in other countries, but within the U.S. political landscape, it is considered the left-leaning or more liberal party, especially on issues like healthcare, climate change, and social justice.

Calling the Democratic Party left in the U.S. doesn’t mean it aligns with, say, European socialism; it just means it’s more progressive compared to the Republican Party. So, it’s less about “not knowing American politics” and more about understanding how these terms shift in meaning based on cultural contextt

I hope he does good, and something tells me that he will because it cannot get worse than it already is.

We'll see if church gets entrenched with state.

We'll see if bibles get forced onto the children in schools.

We'll see if there's a national abortion ban.

We'll see if the FDA gets completely fucked and the department of education is dismantled.

We'll see if RFK bans vaccines.

This list is very long.

Again, these nonsensical positions stem from emotional bias, not logical fallacy or cognitive bias. The latter only comes in when they do their justifications.

If truth is the guide, there's no need for ideology, right or left.

Maturity in discussion means the ability to separate ideas from identity so one can easily recognize new, irrefutable information as valid, and to fully integrate it into one’s perspective—even if it challenges deeply held beliefs. Both recognition and integration are crucial: the former acknowledges truth, while the latter ensures we are guided by it.

Trump said himself he doesn't want a national abortion ban though.

And the most important thing you said was "Let's see".  Yeah, let's see. Seems like many people (I'm not even talking about the radical leftist woke culture propaganda bs) already believes this world will end cus of Trump's leadership. It's been one f*cking day. Maybe tomorrow he'll call Putin and they'll settle the whole Ukraine bs, that's a start.

I work with old people. Not in the US.

I asked two of them about the elections because they were watching news.

A 94 yr old woman said

how can these people (Americans) be so dumb to vote for such a president?

another said.

Every country deserves its president.

I just don’t understand why people are worried about the far right stuff with trump. He’s not even a real conservative. But I guess everyone is afraid of the extreme of both parties. I Jsut don’t think it will be that way. He’s been president. Nothing bad like abortion bans and stuff happned or any religious fundamental stuff

Riiiight! It's not like Trump is a dictator and can set all the rules. I mean come on, are people not smart enough to understand selling points of a campaign? They strawman the shit out of an 'evil archetype'. The evil is only recognized cus' it's equally in them.

@Scarecrow I don't know what's extreme about Kamala...other than conservatives calling anything even remotely left of center "socialism" or "communism" but you aren't considering that the first time around they didn't have an agenda like P2025

Sadly, experience is the solution.

Trump supporters have completely rotted their brains with anti-Woke stuff.

It’s fear mongering. He’s on the bros side, you think he’s gonna let his own core base down by putting the fear of God in them for not being able to raw dog with peace of mind. Ya’ll need to get it together and vibe.
