They are electing a strong leader.

False. They're electing a paper tiger who enacts policies against their own self-interests.

Let's not give credence to cult of personality, here. These are ignorant, brainwashed folk. The majority of them, at least.

One serious question here is the future of the mainstream media.   The mainstream media was almost completely anti Trump and resorted to hyperbole and the invoking of the “Hitler” meme.   But Trump won the popular vote.  Does this mean Americans now are pro Hitler?  No.  It means that Americans no longer trust the mainstream media.  They rejected the mainstream narrative.   But, how do you run a government when there is no reliable source of information?  Will truth now be defined by podcasts and YouTube influencers?   What is the future of news?

"But if you lose the senate, house, electoral college AND popular vote, and you think the lesson is half the country is racist, sexist, homophobic, transphobic, and stupid… wrong lesson. And the same thing will likely happen in 2028. "

I don't think you understand. People know who Trump is. They are electing a strong leader. They feel like they need a strong leader to stand up for themselves and make their enemies bend to their whims.

No, they don't know.

He might give a strong leader vibe, but he is just a bully.

Also, they don't understand that Trump constantly lies to them and twists others' words. Notice that Trump always feels attacked when someone calls him out or doesn't agree with him, and then he bullies them.

I have been saying this for years now, how information will get distributed and processed is the most pressing and important challenge of the 21st century.

It outweighs every other challenge, including climate change.

You don’t care at all that stopping funding means an innocent population/ country  gets invaded by a corrupt power hungry country?

Of course I do. That's why I wrote "Among many other horrible things."

I’m entirely indifferent to this

seeing the liberal base react calling men trash and spewing all their “white man bad” talking points reminded me how out of place I am in that lgbtquia£#}^€+ orgy

then again I’m entirely against how dishonest trump is and how anti intellectual he is. The man incited a riot to crash the government, and people hand wave it saying he wasn’t responsible for it. I can’t accept this lying.

so I’m stuck between a rock and a hard place between lying and dishonest and radical identity politics, really off putting.

Apparently 15 million people didn’t show up to vote democrat this time… pretty wild

Biden got 81 million and Kamala is sitting on 66 million. 15 million difference in people who didn’t vote. I was one. I live abroad and am registered in a blue state so my vote didn’t make any difference. But damn a ton of dems sat this one out. I guess people have a short memory and were super charged to have Biden in when Trump was fumbling Covid. Seems like the country has a very short attention span.

You won’t hear me complain, I didn’t vote so I don’t have that right but damn I better not see all these dems who didn’t vote either complain, especially if you were in a swing state.

@Scholar People of the US are not pro Hitler. But, history has a way of repeating itself. We don’t know what Trump will do or not do. But, people generally didn’t foresee the dangers of who they voted for when people with his rhetoric exist.

Let’s be real though, everyone needs to chill the fuck out. USA is still a democracy and all change is unfolding for us to accept and grow from. And at the end of the day what you do with your life is way more important than what is happening inside the White House. People put way too much weight into how this affects their life, you can make a beautiful life for yourself and those around you no matter who is president of the USA.

Calling Trump a criminal or a rapist isn't going to help. People are okay and would even prefer a brutal leader. Most people know intuitively that survival requires that you do brutal stuff.

Being a rapist is a horrible quality of a leader and is not required for survival. Do you listen to yourself?

Ugh woke up with terrible news :SApparently we need to integrate stage red lol

You know what the best part will be? To watch people who voted for him justify the atrocities that are going to happen. “Father, forgive them, for they do not know what they are doing”

Trump is a “light worker” in the sense that so much shit is gonna come to the surface to be illuminated and cleared out because of him. A big purge is about to start.

In those times I like to think about the quote from Marcus Aurelius “To be like the rock that the waves keep crashing over. It stands unmoved and the raging of the sea falls still around it.” As the external falls apart, our connection with ourselves strengthens.

I was thinking about this, its like if you think of every country as an individual person with different percentages of spiral stages in them, America has a lot of red and blue and Trump had brought out and empowered the red side by putting the blues in a fear state. On the other side the green side dont like the lower sides of themselves and orange is in the middle and can be swayed either way.

What's scary from a world perspective especially in regards to western countries who are more orange/green with smaller elements of red and blue, is that the US has a lot of power and is essentially run by someone much less developed than them, meaning they could be forced into situations that are detrimental for everyone because of this wild card.

What I think also isn't great for the US is the 2 party system, so you can't really even gauge the distinctions, people just won't vote if they feel unheard. Whereas in the uk for example you have a green party that can get seats in parliament or even a far-right party that can get seats so you know exactly what the make up of the country is and also everyone is kinda represented.

World War 3 here we come...

I preach and I preach to the psychically blind the reality to no avail.  I watched the proceedings last night and something really struck me.  Most of the Republican Senators running were former CEOs.  That is the bottom line of everything I believe and propound.
